No. You were not taught mathematics enough. I edited my post above, I hope it clears the confusion.

It's NOT a matter of BIDMAS, but rather understanding which part of the equation is the power.

If I would include several different things in one power, I'd put all that in brackets.
If I write X^3*7, I read it as solving X^3, before multiplying it by 7. I've been taught to make sure that you see what is the power. If ''*7'' was part of it, I would have written it as X^(3*7). Then I solve 3*7 first, because it's between brackets, then do X^21. But since I use no brackets in X^3*7, implying that (3*7) is one thing, I thought it would be clear that X^3 should be solved first.

*head asplodes*

Nope, completely lost me there. I spent my maths GCSE sitting at the back of class with a box of coloured counters. Seriously, they had no idea what to do with me so they made me play with blocks. At the age of 15. Unbelievable...

SERIOUSLY??!? They do that to me!!

P^0.3*(1+(T/100))+(L/10)

Here, P represents your number of posts, T is your trohpy score, and L is your likes. If I enter my own data (what it used to be, when developing this):
1060^0.3*(1+(120/100))+(98/10)=27.58
Be sure to enter this correctly! Calculators turn your slightest mistake into a greatly different number.

I'm not at all good at math, can you please explain what the symbols and whatnot mean like ^ and *

'*' stands for multiplying. 2*3=6. 3*4=12. 7*0.5=4.5
^ was explained on the previous page... sortof. Anyway, you can write ''X^N''. For how much N is, that much X you write, with * inbetween it.
For example, 2^4=2*2*2*2=16.
5^3=5*5*5=125.
But the most basic is using ''^2'', such as for 10^2=10*10=100.
Of course, with ''^0.3'' is kinda hard. But hey, that's what calculators are for.

so would you just multiply you posts by 0.3?

No, that would be ''P*0.3''. But I write ''P^0.3''.
If I write the function 2^N, for example, then the result depends on what number N is. I might have to write 2*2*2 or 2*2*2*2*2, which answers are respectively 8 and 32. In these cases, N was either 3 or 5. (I do hope you followed the fac tthat * is multiplying).
I can also write 3^N. If I make N, 2, I get: 3*3. Two threes, because of the 2. If N is equal to 6, I get 3*3*3*3*3*. Six threes, all multiplied. But instead, we get P^0.3, though this is hard to write. How can you write 0.3 P's, multiplying each other? I don't know, but it works. :P The same counts for X^0. If the number after the ^ is zero, your answer is always 1, for some reason.
Anyway, I hope it's (somewhat) clear, and leave the rest to you calculator, as to not break your mind over it.

okay so I am 14.5 hmm thats 2 years too low, but close enough. I tthink you should add how long the person has been a member to the equation.

Meh, that would add too much work for the person, calculating it. In the first post, I explained this number more or less represented how much awesomeness you gathered. You are a strong memeber, if you have much posts, trohpy points, and likes. Of course, I could do it, and I considered it, but the person would have to figure out how long they were around. They would also have to work with a much more complex formula, while this one already brings problems for some people.
But mostly, I wanted the ProjectEgo age to be completely independant of your real age. I wanted it to be something just based on what someone did on here, rather than how long someone actually did it.
That's why it's called ''Forum Age'', not ''Almost Your Real Age''. :P

I just googled the equation and replaced the variables with the right numbers and it gave me the answer. :P

...

There seem to be a LOT of people having problems. I thought it was easy to just type what's on there, on a calculator. :P Buuuuut I can help. Gimme a sec...

EDIT-

Alright, there's a good calculator on this site. Here's how to use it, using myself as an example.

Note: The numbers 1122, 135, and 116 are my P(posts), T(Trophies) and L(likes). Just so you don't get confused by all the numbers. The 0.3, 1, 100 and 10 are already part of the formula.

As you can see, the ^ symbol can be written by the button it's connected with. But the site also allows you to use your keyboard, so if it's one there, you could use that. To understand what it does is a little harder, but I tried to explain it above. If you really want to know it, you should get a math teacher. :P
Anyway, this shouldn't be hard to write, right?

foragecalc2.png

Now, here you may get a little confused. In the formula I wrote ''...0.3*(1+...'', while on this image, there is no *! That doesn't matter. Just write it as the image says, or still click that ''X'' sign on the right, to multiply, OR still write the *. Even if it's not there, some rule in math says it still happens. Eh, uhm, just write ''0.3(1+'', it works.
Also, you can see where the brackets in the formula are located on screen, but you can also use the ones on your keyboard (again), just like the numbers you write.

foragecalc3.png

Alright, so the site automatically changed what's written above, compared to what I wrote. This doesn't matter, it's still the same. Whether the numbers are next to each other, separated by a ''/'', or above each other, separated by a ''_''. In both cases, you divide the first number, by the latter. Again, you can write the ''/'' with that on your keyboard, but it's a shame I didn't show what the button on the site is, for it. It's the one the right, that has a horizontal line, and a dot above and below it. Be sure to place two brackets at the end! For each opening bracket, there must be a closing one.

foragecalc4.png

This last one shouldn't be too hard, after all that we've done. Write an opening bracket, write your L(likes), divide it by 10, and place a closing bracket. Congratulations, you have written the full formula!

foragecalc5.png

Only one thing remains; solving the equation! Now that's why we have the calculator. Just click enter, or the ''='' button in the lower right corner. You should get a lower number, with lower P/T/L's, and a higher number with higher P/T/L's.

I hope this helped. =|
