GCSE Results.

Might just be me who is taking their GCSEs at the moment but I got half of my RE result thing morning. Grade A with 83/100. Not bad considering it is easily my worst subject and I got a C in my mocks. To be honest I only tried for a good grade in this subject because my mum was disappointed with my C

Anyone else taken any GCSEs and got results back? My brother got an A* I think but he revised a lot. :P

Yeah it's in Britain and no worries . I'm not sure actually, they're changing the education system around. For my year, we're taking GCSEs over the final 2 years of high school. I'm going into my last year in September and over the year I'll be doing my final exams, etc.

Re: GCSE Results.

Got my results today! Yay!

English literature: A
I'm certainly not surprised with this one, me being a poet and all and English Lit being all about old poems and stories.
English: B
Again, not surprised. I have a way with words when writing.
Music: B
Not surprised, I'm very proud of my musical talent. I got an A* in the course work and a C in the exam.
Maths: C
I was expecting a B in this, but it hardly matters in the least. A pass is a pass.
Statistics: C
I'm lucky to have got this, I really struggled :x
Science: C
Same, lucky. Don't know how I managed it.
ICT: C
Thats another 2 GCSE's under my belt! And with ease, too! It was unimaginably easy.
History: D
Meh, whatever. History sucked, I almost dropped out of it.

I'm not sure if it's only in Britain or not, but it's a qualification that primary and secondary school is about preparing you for really. After that you're free to go out into the world or continue education, although it isn't essential :P

Cool man

I'm predicted the following;

English: A
RE: B
History: A
Spanish: B
Maths: B
Science: B
ICT: B

I'm predicted a lot of Bs but that's because I'm very easy going when it comes to school, so it appears that I'm just at a B. I tend to get As at exams though if I pull my finger out :)

So it's like what we have here in Victoria. Our last two years of high school are called VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education). My final exams are in october/november. I'm really not expecting anything good.

Well it's a good idea to look it up so that you don't look stupid.

The states doesn't have a fitting parallel for this. Individual states might have their own standardized tests, for instance Texas has TAKS, but these have the bar set awfully low.

Give the kid a break. That wasn't a stupid question.

Re: GCSE Results.
