The saying is "Eat her cake and have it." It doesn't make sense your way, and I don't think it's an appropriate metaphor in the first place.

Okay..use "Have it both ways." That one is very appropriate, though I admit I don't use the 'cake' metaphor much so it may be phrased wrong.

Nah, the way you said it is what most people say. They don't realise it's a corruption of the original saying, but they still wonder why it doesn't make sense.

And upon reviewing the saying, I've decided that it is, in fact, and appropriate metaphor.

Thats why it works as a metaphor. As in, she's trying to eat her cake, and then have it, but she can't.

Shes trying to... eat... Tyler... so to speak, and still have KE. But she can't.
