Both are must see anyway... but
Lawnmower Man had a murderous monkey going berserk and trying to break out from a lab only to be blown to bits by a lucky guard who wasn`t killed by the ape previously...
Edit: I just realized I pitted a murderous monkey against killer machines. I stand defeated :lol:

Spirited Away, whilst relatively ok, is the weirdest film ever. No lie, it's ****ing weird. But it's not bad. But weird.
I once lived 10 minutes away from where Stephen King got hit by a car in New Hampshire!!!1!!!one!1 Beat that!
TBH, although when I first watched Avatar, I thought it was amazing, looking back now, it's actually quite ****. The visuals, sure, are brilliant, but looking at any crappy Michael Bay blockbuster you can see that that's not rare nowadays. I suppose there was a big thing about the 3d, which admittedly is awesome, but I prefer deeper films that make you think about stuff, and I'm afraid the plot in Avatar is thin and BLATANTY a rip-off of Dances with Wolves and Pochahontas, the characters are mediocre at best, and the one-liners are excrutiating. James Cameron, please take note of this and realise that when you inevitably make Avatar 2, one-liners are restricted to Captain Kirk ONLY.

I don't mind that style of writing in certain cases - if I feel like reading intellectually I turn to Dostoevsky, and whilst I like the Russian Romantics, I also enjoy slower paced books such as what Stephen King has to offer. I'd rather that than 'the cold, twisted branch protruded deeply into the solemn forest.' That stuff doesn't appeal to me...

That's a movie that you don't really watch until you see it a second time. So many subtle references to the twist ending that otherwise flies right over your head!

I see your point about Avatar, but now that I stopped to think actually about what you said and compared it to the movie, makes a lot of sense. I usually think about that stuff too, but the first time I saw Avatar was when it was in 3d, guess I kinda got really into all the effects and failed to notice that it could have been done better. Did you realize all of what you had written after watching the movie for the first time?
On a different note, I think the movie: The Departed has its place among conspiracy movies. I loved it. Maybe Troy as well, with Brad Pitt; that was great too.
