According to Joystiq, sources have confirmed that a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved will be released for the Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011, ten years after the original. The sources also claim that the game will not be a simple HD upscaling - it will include new art assets, 1080p resolution, stereoscopic 3D support, and may feature online co-op.

The remake is supposedly being developed by Saber Interactive, the developer responsible for TimeShift, and is allegedly one of two Halo games currently being overseen by 343 Industries, Microsoft's internal Halo-dedicated studio.

I played the first one, and really liked it. Don't know why I'd want to play it again though.

Unless it comes out on PC, like the first one did.

The first game was great but would feel weird going back to not being able to do certain things that they introduced in newer Halo's. Wonder what they could introduce to make up for the game having less features than the newer games. Would be interesting to have a better co-op for the first game though as even with 2 players it was brilliant. Hopefully they change some of the levels a little though as the copy and paste design of them wouldnt sit well along side newer games these days.

i don't know if it's confirmed or not, but i did a quick google search on this. there isn't much info, but an article talked about the "3D Halo: Combat Evolved Remake" in it's title. i doubt that would be confirmed this early, but it could be the beginning of a hollywood-esque trend in video games if it's true.

Look at the OP, silly goose: 'stereoscopic 3D support'. Confirmed. :3

From what I've heard in game informer you can expect a sequel to halo 3 next year as well.

i just played through halo CE and i cant stand it

first time i played CE i was like 12 i had no idea what i was doing my friend just walked me through it

all of grade 9 i spent playing Halo 2 i loved it so much

halo 3 was awesome forge blew my mind and theatre mode was just the cherry on top (armour perms too w00t)

when reach came out i was like "its good and all but it feels weird" it took me a while to get use to and for a while (like a month after release) i hated it. now i play it religiously.

with he remake of CE coming out im looking forward to it

TL;DR:

H3: awesome
Halo reach = new religion
