Still haven't received my copy of Halo 3: ODST - gutted. Proper disappointed in Argos now and I am so regretting pre-ordering Left 4 Dead 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2 from 'em now. They also charge in advance so I'm kinda stuck with 'em now...

Hopefully, my ODST game will arrive tomorrow. I really hope this isn't going to be a repeat of the crap I had with the original Halo 3 - I had to wait between 2-4 weeks for my copy to arrive due to the postal strike and my copy being lost in the post... Don't let me down, Argos!

Order games from play.com then.

Re: Halo : ODST

ODST is a short game, me and a friend played it and it only took us 4 hours,we died about 10 times and found 10+ auido files so we did spend a lot of time just looking for them.
fire fight is ok but its no even online its friends only, like some nintendo BS
IMO not worth the 70$ (why the hell are games 70$ now anyway wtf) 50$ would of been fine
Rent it, beat it, screw around in fire fight...

Play.com is good, but I'm a right tight so-and-so and the idea of getting ODST for almost a tenner less from Argos was too good for me to pass up. Lesson learned, mind. Argos is the freakin' devil.

Re: Halo : ODST

Oh, my friend bought it. I saw it, and was like, "This looks exactly like Halo 3."
The silenced SMG is cool though.

I'd rather have more tactical missions though.

Re: Halo : ODST

I got my ODST in yesterday and i like it very much im on the fourth missin right now and i like it :)

I hate going from one game to another like that... Like BF: BC to CoD. I try to switch a weapon and I throw a grenade.

But can anyone explain major differences from the other Halo games to this? I asked a few friends and they couldn't give me a good answer. And they actually got mad. Then proceeded to call me a Call of Duty fanboy.

I did the exact same thing going from CoD to BF: BC.

It seems more tactical as the game is very dark (early levels anyway). Have to switch views alot so you can see enemies glowing red and search for important items that glow yellow. You have no respawning shield so cant take anywhere near as much damage as Master Chief so have to be careful what you pick a fight with. Ive found i have to switch weapons to match certain situations much more and overall you have to think a lot more about what your doing. Things like Wraths are quite hard to take out as you can no longer simply jump onto them and commandeer it. Hunters are actually rather challenging also especially when there is 2 of them.

Depends what difficulty you play on. Id rather play a mode like Firefight with friends to be honest. Strangers tend to play around and not work as a team. At least if friends do that and mess up your game you can give them a punch next time you see them.

me and my friend finished it on legendary today, took us just under 30 min LESS then our first try on normal cus we just avoided the fights while playing as the rookie when youre alone,
we died less times (exept at the high way part) and we did not spend any time looking for the auido files,

Well with friends it would be easier than when your alone & avoiding battles and Audio files.

Re: Halo : ODST

I won't be getting ODST, I'm waiting for Modern Warfare 2 :D

Re: Halo : ODST

My copy of Halo 3: ODST still hasn't arrived. Screw Argos.co.uk. Screw Royal Mail. I'm having a strop right now.

Sounds like Argos fault as despite the huge backlogs in Royal Mail at the minute mine was delivered on time. Only ordered it late last week too.

Not an especially big fan of the Halo universe. Don't get me wrong, the games are entertaining but there's a ton of things I don't like about 'em. I borrowed the game off my cousin in the end because Argos are giving us the run-around and I have no idea when my copy will arrive, and I'd like to actually get some games of Firefight / campaign co-op in before everyone on my friend's list gets sick of the game.

If anyone wants to play some co-op campaign on Legendary or Firefight next time I'm on Live then I'm game.

Re: Halo : ODST

^ can i add you then, randy old man? anyone can feel free to add me, im finishing up the audio logs (2 more) and then ill have a 5 week montage of firefight and vidmasters. anyone feel free to add me: PurpleNurple194 and we can do whatever. dont be freaked out if i send any of you guys a friend request either. and btw im home pretty much all the time, i got flu.

Re: Halo : ODST

Hey mate, thanks for the friend request! Sure, I'll be playing ODST for as long as my cousin allows me to borrow it - or until my copy arrives then I'm sure I'll be playing it for a few weeks. I'm just mopping up the Legendary campaign with Dark Drakan at the moment but I'm definitely up for some boosting of the Vidmaster achievements. I need most of the achievements to be honest.

Wondered who the friend request was from, now i know.

Re: Halo : ODST

Yeah I am just gonna send an invite to Drakan, Tsuyu and Ego, no reason probably won't even contact you, I don't most people lol.

Finished ODST the night I got it... WIthout spoilers: It is my new favorite 360 game and one of my favorite all time games... Love the feel, the music, the way it plays out and the freeroam and firefight... Plus a certain character late in the game is by far one of my favorite cuties ever... He may even beat Dog or Lamarr from Half-Life 2 and the WCC from Portal, deffinately at least beats the Golems from Diablo 2.

Re: Halo : ODST

oh and anyone thats wants to try for the vidmasters pm me cause i need 4 friends with odst for the last two.

Re: Halo : ODST

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

*takes deep breath*

Ok, so our copy STILL hasn't arrived but mercifully Matt is letting us hang onto his for as long as we need. Have now had to purchase a second copy from Amazon and it will be here tomorrow. Argos told me I have to wait a further 3 working days before contacting them again and, in their own words, "we don't know what to do if your item doesn't arrive". How stupid is that?

NEVER buying games from them again. Shoddy bunch of tea leafs, the lot of 'em.

Still, what little I've played of ODST I really like it - and I prefer Firefight to Horde, which I wasn't expecting. I still suck though...
