Happy Halloween

Re: Happy Halloween

So yea, I had a pretty good time yesterday. The only thing I regret is letting my friend tag along because she was the most awkward third-wheel ever...

When are third wheels not awkward?

I also had fun yesterday. I got SOOOOOOOOOO much candy. It's pretty rediculous. I compared it to a 6-pound dumb-bell, and it weighed about the same .

I didn't go to the party I was planning on going to, but I spent the night at my friend's house. We stayed up all night getting high, staring at optical illusions, and eating candy. I had fun .

I think I'll go eat my 6 pounds of candy now...

Re: Happy Halloween

^ Gahh. Your poor teeth. xD
I went trick or treating too, but I just gave my candy to little kids. I really don't eat the stuff.

Re: Happy Halloween

^ Aw, I'm sorry Necro. I think you'll be quite content with six pounds of sweets though. What's another measly pound or two? Most of it wasn't the good stuff, but there were a few Heath bars and those were hard to give up. -_-
Damn diets! ><

Re: Happy Halloween

Jeeze, not eat your own candy? What a waste. We got a grand total of six trick-or-treaters, so we have all of ours to eat.

I do feel kinda guilty, though. I did a really half-assed Shadow costume (who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Not me. Nope. Nu-uh.) I really wish I had been an undead puddle pirate. I thought about it, but didn't bother to actually do it.

I take it you had fun at your halloween kiddy festival? My library's Mad Scientist schtick was a lot of fun. I got to throw my sister's tasty (actually, they were kinda gross) (pasta) guts at people! And terrify small children, except for the ones who were so pressed that they knew the knife wasn't real. So, I broke out the real one, and scared them witless. And ****ed my sister off. C'mon, it's not like I broke the skin or anything.

Halloween is an AMERICAN tradition, it means absolutely nothing to me. Keep it in America please, I've had enough.

Halloween is not American, it is Celtic, and the real name is Samhain.

Wave after wave of snotty little brats banging at the door screaming "TWICK OR TWEAT!" in their whiney, annoying voices.

Seriously? I hardly think they 'scream'. You need to learn to turn your outdoor light off so you don't make them think you have candy, and learn to be mre tolerant, because you were once a 'snotty little brat'. And don't insult a 4 year old's speech skills, that's completely irrelevant to the point you're trying to make.

God damnit.

Re: Happy Halloween

Halloween is the bastardization, or americanization, of said Celtic holiday. It doesn't really play out like that in the other parts of the world, so its pretty accurate to call it "an American thing".

We are taking the kidos trick or treating. Our 5 yr old is going to be Spiderman, our 3yr old is going to be Cinderella, 2 yr old is going to be a witch, and our 1 yr old is going to be tigger. The best part about having kids that are TOT age...they can't possibly eat all the candy...so I get the leftovers! lol And, they don't mind if I take the good stuff and they get the crappy tootsie rolls...cause all that matters at that age is that it is candy and they are eating it!

Wtf Mom when did you join fable forums?

I went as The Binge-er-bread man.

I'd post a link to the video that inspired it, but it invovles some seriously 18+ stuff.

If you really want to see it, go to Newgrounds.com...

I warned you.

Honestly, the kids in my town scream like there's no tomorrow. I have no idea what they think they are achieving.

Honestly, yes, I agree with Tsuyu here, to a degree. People can say "oooh, it's really Samhain" all they want, but it's still not true. Also, they can say "oooh, it's evil" (same reasons for both, probably) all they want, and it's still not true. Whatever its origins, Halloween is just a fun, secular holiday for scaring the **** out of small children and making yourself feel better about doing so by giving them candy.

And, if you want to get technical, Halloween is probably the bastardization of All Hallow's Eve, and All Hallow's Eve is the bastardization of Samhain. Thank you, Catholicism. Without you, we'd have nothing.

Re: Happy Halloween

I woke up on the 1st of November in a barn surrounded by sick and lots of rain water.

Woop for Halloween..

From my experience, I've heard that British children scream a lot, but still, it's not all on their end per se.
