Re: Haven't seen a lot of Boderlands love around here.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! HAHAHAHAHAH! MOOOORE! BLOOOOOOOOD!

Brick is just amazing. You can either blow things up with rocket launchers, or specc into a true melee monster. What's there not to love?

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Boderlands love around here.

I'm around 20, Roland ;d

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Boderlands love around here.

Roland is insanely powerful if you specc him correctly. The Medic tree is incredible.

First you get the skill that increases your Health. Then the one that increased clip size. Then you get the one which increases resistance to bullets, and finally you get the one which makes you generate health whenever you kill an enemy.

With this build you're as close to immortal you can get, and as a bonus the health regeneration extents to party members, too!

+the health regen from the Scorpio.

Ive seen people speak about this title quite a lot yet still even after researching cant figure out what the games about. Meant to be an RPG/Shooter i believe but also be 4 player co-op ive heard... how does this mechanic work exactly?

You gain health and deal more damage as you level up, and you have stats you pour in to attributes.

>_>

it's an RPG that uses guns. Did you not play Fallout 3?

Yeah ive played Fallout 3 extensively & understand the premise of it as its a single player RPG/Shooter. I was more curious about the Xbox Live and Co-op aspect of Borderlands & how that plays out storywise etc and fits into the game. Is it essentially the single player experience with 4 players that each play a different class & you XP share for kills etc?

Yes, however, enemies gain strength (significantly, I might add) when playing with a group. Loot is also significantly better.

More often than not, you'll find yourself needing strategy rather than running in guns blazing.

Id hoped that was the case. Lots of developers dont take that into account with co-op games. You often find you can blaze through the game as the enemies remain the same strength and numbers no matter how many players you have. Also good that you are seemingly rewarded for having team mates.

I was looking into this title a while back but with the blockbusters Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed II released everything else took a backseat. Might look into it again soon as another purchase.

Not necessary with the final skill in Medic. The regeneration from that one is insane when maxed. Its much better to advance quickly down the tree to get it ASAP rather than get the Scorpio healing. Unless you either get one of the two cooldown-reducing abilities(neither one is in the Medic tree), the Scorpio becomes too unreliable to use as healing.

About co-op:
More players equals tougher enemies.
Tougher enemies equals better loot! ^_^

You're directly quoting the in game hints! Finally! Someone who pays as much attention to loading screens as me! :3

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Borderlands love around here.

Lvl 50 Soldier (Support Gunner Class)
yeah, Tsuyu is right... my soldier is speced as a medic and he's unstoppable.

Lvl 42 Hunter (Assassin Class)
i upgraded bloodwing...insane when you do. he flies out, claws an enemy (usually killing him). then he returns with stolen health....shooting enemies with a sniper rifle 3-4 times knocks the cooldown off right away, and i can do it again! :D

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Borderlands love around here.

Looking forward to getting this, Dragon Age and ACII this Christmas.

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Borderlands love around here.

I had it, but I borrowed it from a friend.

Level 50 Mercenary Siren.

If I get it again, would any of you guys like to play?

Oh, and once you get a decent Hellfire with a nice fire rate, everything dies at your hands.

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Borderlands love around here.

the best gun i found was the Dahl Bulldog which i found with my soldier at level 25 or so. it remained effective until level 40. it was extremely accurate...i still haven't found a gun that beasts every type of enemy in the same way :D

anyone else have a favorite gun they've found?

Re: Haven't seen a lot of Borderlands love around here.

Massive Destructor.

A 2000+ damage Rocket Launcher. Funny thing is; its just a random green weapon I found in the shop one day.
