and how the hell could you see "stink" you mean smell. it probably when your evil you give off an aroma like you haven't bathed in ages
and its not smoke as smoke is black...usually there you have it, an aura

Ah the best point I have seen in this thread, that means that they can't be flies as they are attracted to the smell of rotting corpses and on the other forum (TLC Mods) they are actually locusts attracted to evil.

Got that right, stereotypical 'stink lines' are green only in all cartoons and animations so why would they make them red for the game if thats what they were meant to be...? =]

Flies can't see auras and aren't attracted to them...
Butterflys however are said to now good auras

Locusts are a sign of famine not evil and are a plague, they are attracted to food... the character isnt food so why would they be attracted to them...?

The only reason they are associated with evil is from the 8th plague of egypt in the bible and as Fable was designed by English development team i doubt they had that in mind.

what about this? the flies are attracted to you because you inhibit the stench of death, or gore, and maybe by the rot of your skin they sense you are dying and hang around?

Vultures are more associated with a dying person than flies and flies are only associated with the already dead and decaying =]

Wikipedia is hardly the most reliable source but it has no mention of stink etc there either then
