Ron Paul, although coming in second place for the Iowa Straw Poll caught flak for his viewpoints on allowing or not allowing Iran to own nuclear weapons. His approach was simply; it's not our business. Paul stated that it was natural for Iran to want a bomb due to the fact they are surrounded by countries such as India, Pakistan and Israel who all have one as well. However, Rick Santorum said "Iran is not Iceland, Ron. It's been at war with us since 1979. Anyone who suggests Iran is not a threat to this country is not seeing the world very clearly."

How can people even get mad over Ron Paul at this?

Why are people afraid of Iran having a nuclear bomb/missile and detonating it? Pakistan even detonated a nuclear bomb! Separate yourself from the fearmongers and warmongers for a second and ask yourself two very important questions. 1. Even if Iran had a nuclear bomb, would they actually have what it takes to drop it or fire it at the United States. 2. Even if they wanted to, would they have the capabilities to fire a nuclear missile from such a distance and actually hit their target? Bombers would be no good because the Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force have bases all set up on the Eastern Coast, those bombers would go to the bottom of the Ocean before they even got to open the hatch!

Thirdly, why are people worried about -IRAN-? The United States of America has been majorly involved in wars over the past 100- some years. First, count the major wars... World War 1, World War 2 (Remember WE dropped two nuclear bombs on CIVILIAN targets, we could have just dropped them on Military targets to end the War the same way but with LESS civilian deaths, but we didn't!), Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, Iraq War, Afghanistan War... and then in between all of those wars you have much smaller wars we have intervened in such as the current Libyan War and in the 1990's the Battle of Mogadishu. We've had dozens of staged coups, assassinations and interventions in between these major wars, to top that all off! - To add onto the FUN!: When we aren't directly involved in a war, we usually pay millions to billions of dollars to one of the belligerents with training and weapons, to help kill off the other side! So virtually; America CANNOT stay out of War, not to mention we have spent billions if not trillions in weapons manufacturing and Defense Systems as well as nuclear ballistics. And people are worried about IRAN? This is a joke!

This is nothing more than more warmongers and fearmongers hating on Ron Paul over this. Even North Korea has nuclear weapons, they threaten to use them all the time, in fact there's more than likely, statistically speaking, a bigger chance of North Korea using them over Iran!

Are you kidding Sean? Iran is openly hostile to pretty much every western country, and if they get nuclear bombs, you can bet they wont be as hesitant about using them as the USA and the USSR were during the cold war.

Primitive nukes dropped on Japan in 1945 killed hundreds of thousands of people. No country should have nuclear weapons, let alone paranoid, warmongering, theocratic dictatorships.

sorry but, you really to add a TL;DR bit for this wall of text
im assumeing that ron paul says that iran has nukes and is willing use them?
IMO i dont care, if we die, we die. If we go to war its business as usual...
i dont care any more i just want to play video games and hide im my little bubble of ignorance

Ron Paul is right about some things, but he's dangerously good at selling his viewpoint as common sense which can be dangerous. Don't get me wrong, he makes a few good points, but my issue lies with a group of people (not aimed at anyone in this thread, i'm paving my own road here) who just say **** it lets make him the president. it's that zombie phenomenon where people start enjoying him speaking more than thinking critically about what he says. whoever challenged him on Iran was in the right, it would be the mistake of the century not to greet them with one hand and arm the other.

also, lets not forget about these guys. they don't seem to be getting very much attention these days.

Therefore Nukes are awesome.

What if I told you guys I was an American Defector only seeking to better the long sought out vision of a powerful and amazing Iranian Empire? Such a desire can only be achieved by wiping out the infidels of the West with nuclear weapons! Or taking down Facebook, YouTube and Xbox Live simultaneously.

I'd say you're crazy, and that nukes are probably the LAST thing you should have.
