Well, that's because lots of people have differen't opinions on certain subject matter. And when people disagree, instead of Agreeing to Dissagree, they begin to become aggresive and insert such insults because they're determined to change the others mind.......Either way.

So does anyone care to explain how a small group of people can speak for all of humanity in a statistic? Where do these 'highly educated' people come from? Where do they get their people from? Don't you think people are going to join a survey that interests them? What about all the people that think surveys and statistics are stupid, like myself? My opinion and those like me obviously aren't being counted.

Statistics try to justify whatever they want by interviewing X amount of people to speak for EVERYBODY. It doesn't work that way.

I know, I get where you're coming from. You're right, all the educated people in the world and all the statistics can't speak for the world. But you don't need surveys or polls or statistics to see the changes in our society, to see for yourself how many people are playing these games, and so on. It isn't hard to see.

I've said what needed to be said without being nearly as... infuriating as killerequinox there. He's contradicted himself, attempted to play off his insults as if they were nothing and so on and so forth. I've done my best to keep my cool but after a while, I lose my patience.

I have always been crude. I lack the ability to sugarcoat anything so when I say something I say how I feel and what I believe to be the truth (as I tend to base everything I say off of personal experience). My blunt cynicism tends to rub people in the wrong way and I get that but often times I do my best to avoid it or properly explain it so that no one gets upset. However, equinox has been doing his very best to **** me off. I know I should not have come back but the forums have become rather inactive as of late so I'm reduced to this.

I typically will not insult someone until they insult me. Yes, there are times when I unintentionally insult someone but that's just my poor choice of words. However, as you can tell, equinox has clearly been attempting to provoke me from the get-go. That's why I was losing my patience and my temper.

However, this is all pretty much done so I'm calm again. Best to just let this thread die off.

If it seems like I'm actively attempting to anger you, I'm sorry. That's not at all what I'm going for. In truth, I'm just strong in my convictions, and if I believe in something enough I'll argue my case to the death.

on the contrary, i've found your posts to be the most infuriating of all. you have a nasty habit of downplaying points made by other peoples arguements and ignoring their validity with your own closeminded logic. i've seen it time and time again whenever you decide to enter a debate. for instance:

Halo didn't start machinima. Revived the Xbox? I don't remember it ever failing but then again, it didn't have much offer to so I can believe that, lmao. MLG? Major League Gaming? Yeah, probably because everyone is so stuck up on how "amazing" it is when it's highly overrated. The first two games were the only good ones. Hardcore gaming crowd? LMAO! Yeah, I forgot how hardcore you have to be to throw a grenade at someone that sticks to them or how hardcore you have to be to instantly rape someone's face with a rocket or energy sword.

while you're right that halo did not start machinima (that was my mistake), you don't even research. your arguements are based entirely on points made from your own personal observation. for instance, you state that halo did not revive the xbox, and you don't ever remember it failing.

if you had taken the time to actually research my points you may have stumbled across this article, which clearly sites Halo as the first major hit to bring the Xbox away from a road of bankruptcy. Halo has a very loyal fanbase, and an extremely large skill curve. i've been playing the game since it's very first installment and there are players who are better than me and players who are better than them. the opposite is also true, i'm no new player. your main comeback was to pick on the common strategy of grenade and power weapon spamming, which isn't the case for most matchmaking games. it's a painful generalization.

so in short, i don't mind how your opinions may be inflammatory to some, it's your tactics that i dislike. it's honestly a chore to keep composure when faced with it. please site sources, and back up your claims with links.
that is all i ask.

This thread has gone from one direction to another, and the insults weren't even necessary. Glad things have settled down now, but as mentioned there's not much else to be done with this thread except more arguing, so...
