Mm

I was cut by my pocket knife which I don't know how clean it was, I used to use it in the woods as a kid but that was ages ago and it doesn't really look dirty, I already washed off the wound, anything else I need to look out for ?

Re: Mm

Usually you have a jab in your arm around the age of 14 or 15 to protect against that disease from rust and stuff... I can't remember what it's called.

I'm not sure if the injection is a British thing but yeah, you should have someone take a look at it in case it becomes infected.

Re: Mm

Well. If you cleaned it out well and the knife isn't too dirt then it should be good. Just put some neosporin stuff on it and you should be good. I cut my hand alot ****in with my butterfly knife and ive had it for two years. Just look out for any weird colors or pains~

Tetanus is what you're talking about. But if it wasn't too deep you should be fine.

Re: Mm

Oh please, dont over react. I've had dirty metal shards run half way through my hand, a dozen pocket knife cuts, and even severed a finger with a glass shard covered in three years of garbage ashes and never had any problems with infection, its all overblown. Run it under the sink and you'll be fine. Sorry if I came off as a d**k.

Re: Mm

I cut my finger in half once (vertically, not horizontally), my dad put some ointment on and told me to man up. Best advice ever. It healed up, but I still have a scar where it kind of sinks in, at the line where I cut it at.

Still, go to the doctors to check it out, just to be safe.

That didnt screw up your tendon? I lost the tendons in two fingers when I cut off my pinky. Physical therapy was a b**ch.

You'd only really have to worry about a deep cut for that.
Besides the last time I cut myself with a knife (a semi-rusty one too) I almost freaked... But I didnt go see the doct or even put alcohol on it. I only cleaned it out really, REALLY well and shrugged it off. It was no big deal...
All im saying is that going to the doctor is a waste of time and money unless you really need it.... at least wait a day and see what happens.

If he has the shot, he is more than fine. Besides, as my father knows "Doctors will hound you for every penny" so they are not worth it.

Patient: "I fell doctor"
Doctor: "Well, you may or may not have cancer so we'll bill you for it anyways"

Oh, I don't think so. I didn't go to the doctors or anything, cus my parents are DIY penny-pinching Asians. If they can do it, why pay someone else to do it for them?

Here's a picture...

It's kind of hard to see, but it's the dark-ish diagonal line.

Re: Mm

Ah. When you said you cut it virtically I though the cut went up your finger. I've done something like that, I actually split the tip of my right pointer finger a few centimeters, didnt get a big scar out of it though. P**ses me off when I dont get an easily noticed scar, It's like a waste of a deep cut.
