But yeah, to my surprise it didn't hurt at all. Not one bit. Just the fact I cut my friggin' finger in half freaked me out.

Ah. When you said you cut it virtically I though the cut went up your finger. I've done something like that, I actually split the tip of my right pointer finger a few centimeters, didnt get a big scar out of it though. P**ses me off when I dont get an easily noticed scar, It's like a waste of a deep cut.

Trust me, scars suck. I have a 6 inch scar on my arm from a car accident and because I'm a Black Asian it grew into a keloid. People ask me every two seconds, "Hey, what happened here!?" and they grab my arm unnecessarily while doing it. I also have some scars on my face from that accident.

Usually cuts that go that deep dont hurt because the blade or other object is so sharp. Slicing the pinky on glass I barely felt a thing, It'll hurt like a b**ch later when it swells though.

There is the finger after having the bandage removed.
P.S. I have many minor and a few major scars and I like them.

Couple months to fully heal I think. You see that blue fishing line sewn THROUGH my finger tip? The other end was attached to a rubber band connected to a wrist brace. My physical therapy to get my tendons working again required me to pull on the line using only the finger with the line through the tip. Every single person who took me to see that doctor was waiting for me to punch him in the face.

I was cut by my pocket knife which I don't know how clean it was, I used to use it in the woods as a kid but that was ages ago and it doesn't really look dirty, I already washed off the wound, anything else I need to look out for ?

Sorry if all this sounds strange or just wrong but I get extremely paranoid when I get cuts/wounds, I get my scared about getting an infection than I do actually dying, it's sad I know but that's how it works out for me.

ugh...please don't go to the doctor. You've probably had your tetanus shot even if you don't remember. (a very rusty nail went through my flip-flop and pretty deep into my foot and my mom didn't even know when I got the shot last) And I'm pretty sure you'll know when you have something wrong with it. I wouldn't waste money on something medical you don't need. You paranoid freak...>D...just kidding. When I cut myself substantially, I pass out/hyperventilate/become faint. I have no idea why because when I was a kid I fell off a 5 foot wall onto my driveway and intentionally scraped my knee. And another time I a completely rusty nail go through my entire toe...or was it halfway...I don't remember. You don't ever have to worry about things like that. If you were to ever let a noticeable infection ferment, then yeah, you're going to need an amputation. But if it's been pink/pus like/swollen/numb/sensitive/etc. for a couple weeks or so, then you may want to do something about it.

Just wash it off you fanny, I've had battery acid leak all over my hands, cut my finger with a scalpel I'd been using to cut a heart open.

Anti-bacterial soap and your fine.
