Obama's shutting nasa down, what you think?

Well im sure most of you Americans already know that Obama has told that he is cutting NASA funds to save about 8 billion dollars to be put toward education.

Now NASA has given us some major medical, and technological advances and now it seems Obama is shutting this all down to "Help the Children" just as he wished to "Help the Homeless" (In which he just gave them money rather then the means to help themselves)

Now it may be only for 5 years but for the mean while we will be dependent on foreign country relations such as Russia in man flight to help repair and launch are numerous satellites.

Anyways Comments/debates as to whether this is a wise or odd choice?

P.S. I'm not "hating" on Obama or anything to be honest i didn't like either candidate's and hope that in the next election a smarter president will come forward, god knows America needs one.

Why explore space when you need to take care of the people on earth closer to home first? I'm all for Obama he's doing good work. Great idea to cut NASA in order to put money into education. And I mean - what's the point in medical advances from NASA if no one has enough money to use these advances? I think us Brits should follow Obama's example.

Don't get me wrong I like space related science programs, but NASA's space exploration funds are better spent here on Earth.

I'd agree if Obama was actually helping people rather then giving them some starter money and expecting to go on from there. Old saying "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish, and he'll eat forever" if we want people to pick their feet up and get moving we need to teach them how to rather then supplementing them with a government check.

The NASA program has brought many health and technological advances to pay for its huge budget and more.
Im all for helping the homeless, but only if it'll get them somewhere.

I can't believe I find myself agreeing with something Obama is doing, someone please call the Ambulance. But I agree with this, what the hell is NASA doing? Just sending astronauts up to space to sit in satellites? Way too much money goes to them, just to send up a few rockets, there is no point in exploring space in my opinion, huge waste of money when you have people dying on Earth. Why worry about space when you can't even send astronauts to Mars if the very least? I say take 10 years of their funding, they don't need ****. Give NASA's money to dying kids and help stop the war in Iraq.

Evidence that money needs to be put into the education system.

If you sent nuclear bombs to other countries they'd send theirs and the whole world would be destroyed. This is what the Cold War was about. This is why in Geneva in 1966 they banned chemical warfare.

lol thanks for agreeing with me but a nuclear bomb at each country would ultimately end the US as her rely upon a lot of countries. Colonization would be interesting but i'd love to see a Auditorium be built on the moon as the moon has basically 0 refraction meaning clearer images and so on.

Lol that's actually clever, but if life really was based on that then we might as well give control to the big business's and be done with it.


If we want education to actually grow then we need to first make it so students will be interested in learning rather then because they have to till the age of 16.

well i think obama did the right thing, i really think nasa are slacking these days not really doing much, leave the space crap to russia and china. Education will breed a new generation of people that can revolutionise the world lol maybe even do what nasa could not. Obama really is making big changes that no other can or that i actually know, wish the world would follow in his footsteps to a brighter future an orange future.

on another note
i completly agree with america nuking everyone because they would have to use 1 nuke for each country and we would be able to stop that while everyone is launching theres at america which america cannot stop so they get insta killed and tht sorts loads of problems-
1-muslims and asians hating america
2- british ppl hating america (xbox live lol)
3- and probably some other junk
on the other hand i would miss the good people in america and there video games/actors/movies. only jwkin btw
