Rockband hates me.

Okay, I've been practicing this damn Panic Attack on Expert Vocals for like, a week now.

I got 100% four times in a row without recording. So, I start recording. Then I get a 98%. I figure it's just a small screwup, and I can get it the next run. So the next four runs, I keep recording, and didn't score above 97%. I figure I need to practice more, so I turn the camera off, and I get 100% the next two times. Start recording again, and I got a 90%. WTF?! So by now, I'm getting irritated. I decide to drop vocals for a bit and try to play it on my old-ass guitar which misses about 40% of all down-strums and about 10% of all up-strums. I normally get 85% at the least on expert bass on this song. This time I scored 79%, barely breaking 100,000 points. Then the 4-port USB hub thing that I have breaks - the cord on the inside is broken I'm betting, because the small green light will only barely flicker on when I move it around. THEN I'm playing the same song on expert drums and crack the lower part of the bass pedal, where the heel rests, because I'm being a moron and doing heel-toe (a fast bass pedal maneuver) on a plastic pedal.

Seriously, Rockband hates me. So I'm asking, should I keep trying to record a damn 100% on Vocals of this song, or save money and get a new guitar?

I can't sing on too many songs, as I'm a second tenor, and the microphone doesn't pick up low notes very well, and my falsetto is incredibly scratchy, but James LaBrie doesn't go too high, except in a few verses, which is one reason why I like singing Dream Theater. Metallica goes for this too, although I refuse to do any song from their latest work. Oddly enough, Painkiller is easy for me too, and that stuff goes HIGH.

Lol, I can do alot, I was expecting more chalelnges with singing, like Testify by RATM was on there, and I wanted to do it cause I can't sing that high lol, but it turned out you can sing at any voice level and it still gets %100.

Rock Band is awesome - I can play expert on every instrument except for Drums on the Nightmare/Impossible songs.

I suggest trying to record the 100% Vocals again, as you will no doubt get it eventually.

By the way - when practicing you should probably concentrate on only the section/phrase you keep screwing up on until youve got it memorised.

Keep trying, the fact that your recording it is probably messing you up. I can sing "Dani California" pretty well on expert (around 90-95%) but when I tryed to do it with people watching I sucked at it.

That sucks about the USB and drum thing though. I can only drum decently on that game, can't do the guitar at all. Hitting the foot pedal kills me though, especially if I have to use it alot. My foot either gets tired or I can't seem to hit it at the right time.

And I'm sure it hates you aswell DS now as for the recording troubles, just don't record it? It's not like it'd be the end of the world if you didn't.

unlike a plastic guitar or drum set, your vocals can get tired or worn after a while. rest them for a day, do one practice round, and you'll be singing tip-top. :D

I've never played Rockband, hence I wouldn't know. To add, I also have no plans to play it in the future.

It's one of those epic video games where people get sponsored to play it well, and get paid to do so.

EDIT- I've always wanted to do Rockband videos, so for me, it would be the end of the world. Besides, I can't let Billtvshow be the #1 Rockband vocalist in the world. Lol.

Alright well, I recorded a gold-star 96% (163k points), and decided to YouTube that, but the worst part of all is, my camera's sound quality is crap, and my voice sounds terrible. Oh well, it's still going up there.

And Skote, it seems that with age, the rockband guitars become more unresponsive... I've had mine since the first day of rockband 1, and back then it worked 100%, now it works barely 50%.

It was the only entertainment I had for 4 months, so I guess its practice.:lol:
