Since you like GTA, yes. Go and get it. As Drakan put it.. GTA IV felt like a test run for RDR.
The NPCs have more 'life' in them, you get the typical GTA humor, free-roam is still present along with wildlife survival. There's less emphasis on running "errands" for people in the game. The game is more polished overall than GTA IV was, and John Marston won't go ragdoll flipping for eternity if he jumps off a speeding horse.

Its better than GTA IV in most aspects and is MUCH more than simply GTA with horses. To simply call it that would be doing it a huge disservice.

I played about 30 minutes this morning whilst round my cousin's house. I was immediately able to get into the swing of things - quite literally as the first thing I did was mess around with the lasso - as the controls are very similar to GTA; the general feel of things is very similar to GTA.
The landscape is also, from my brief bout of exploring, ABSOLUTELY HELLA MASSIVE. I managed to make my way up to the top of a silly-tall mountain and the view was pretty staggering. Think Assassin's Creed... but more dust and sand.
I'd get it if it came out for PC.

You should definetly get it. If you like GTA you will love it. Hell, I hate GTA and even I like it. Its not simply GTA with horses, although the game controls are about the same.

You like GTA IV?
You will definitly like RDR its ****ing awesome but the first thing Rockstar needs to do is patch the game because there are a lot of glitches like Birds with the wrong skins so they look like people or other animals or horses with the wrong skin so they look like people.

Yeah i enjoyed GTA IV very much but RDR is so much more addictive and MUCH more to do in it.

CoD 6, actually.
Buy it. Buy it now. It's easily in my top 10 games ever. It's GotY worthy.
It's more fun than GTA and a lot better, it interests you a lot more than the story is worth playing again. You can easily get sidetracked with mini-games, saloon fights, stranger missions, hunting and more.
It's easily a 10/10. I recommend you buy it.
