My thoughts exactly. Necro, are you sure you're not going to remove the name rule? I can't see those 2 guys ever returning with a rule that (no offense) is simply redundant. It's a rule that also bothers me if I'm to ever enter one day.

^I do what I can to ensure authenticity. Having to put a name on a sig discourages people from using a sig that someone else has made. I had a problem regarding that before (not here, different forum) and I just don't want to have to deal with it again. What's the problem with putting your name on it anyway? Why does it bother you?

I see what you mean, but at other forums I've been at, having your name on the tag still wouldn't be enough to keep others from stealing. They'd simply edit over the name and put their own. Plus, this rule wouldn't stop others from stealing nameless tags from elsewhere and slapping their name on it.

It only bothers me because I don't like placing any form of text on a tag when it isn't necessary, it's distracting, doesn't fit well with the rest of the piece, etc. I guess I could make it tiny in the corner, maybe, I don't know.

What we did at the other forum I was at, was if we found someone stealing signatures, we'd report them and they would be ban.. problem solved. Kept things in line, and if thieves wanted to be apart of the design community they would have to learn to make their own work. The sig thieves weren't very difficult to spot, because they would take signatures from Planet-Renders and other popular design boards.

Well sure, someone could do that, but if they're stealing sigs, they're probably not good enough at editing or photoshop to know how to edit over text. Even if they could, it would take some amount work, which would be what they're trying to get away from by stealing.

I thought about that as well, but that's an entirely different issue. I've never been totally sure of what to do about that.

That always seems to work well for Dualist.

I'd have to agree. That was the sick shiz. Shame for the no name rule, but I do see how it comes into play.

Maybe putting "Thieving sigs makes you gay!" would stop anyone immature enough to steal them in the first place? :lol:

I have no problem with people using my signatures but if they say they made it then they're muchos stupido.

I can see how the no name rule works, but at the same time... Who would steal someones signature? If I stole one of RR's signatures it would be obvious because he made it. He would notice instantly and then everyone would know.
