So, I Just Got Fired

Basically, I wanna know if this is just or unjust.

So, I've been working at a liquor store for about 6 months and I got fired for spending too much time in the washrooms. Now, I'm not sure what it is, but I have intestinal pains pretty much 24/7, and my bathroom breaks take a little while as a result. My boss asked me about a month and a half ago to get it checked out, and she expressed genuine concern. She never said I couldn't take a long bathroom breaks. Now I never went to the doctor about it, because they seem to just search my symptoms on a computer and write me off an expensive prescription that has a hit and miss chance of working. So a month goes by, she tells me about how some of the other employees are complaining about my bathroom breaks, and so she tells me I can't do that anymore, as if I can somehow help it. Take half a **** and leave? Yeah, okay. So I try to take minimal bathroom breaks, but it didn't work out. I called in today to ask for reassurance on my afternoon shift, and she says on Saturday too many thefts were happening as a result of me in the washroom. So she went on to say I was going to have to be let go.

So, is this unjust in your opinion? I'm going to call the worker's board later today, but for the moment I'm a little busy. Just want some opinions.

I'm actually on her side here. It is something that you should have be searching medical attention for (I mean, really? Why wouldn't you), and because you didn't she's not legally obligated to take that into consideration.

If you can get official proof from a doctor about your condition, you've got a case.

Only if he had been proven ill during employment. His boss suggested he go to a doctor, and he didn't.

I figured as much. And I honestly don't bother with my medical issues anymore.

But as a side note, she always told me how she liked working with me and how I was a good worker etc. So I doubt there was another motive. Well, I was the only white guy there. Totally racism.

I guess you were just a crappy worker.

listen to me bro
serious, totally serious right now

figure out what the hell is going on, that sounds pretty darn serious. if your intestines blow out of your chest because you didn't go see a doctor I will not be pleased

in fact I will be sad
go get it checked out canadian

Yea I'd get that looked at whenever just to nip it in the bud if it's serious. Sounds to me like your ex-boss is pretty cool, and you know what work relationships are like, often you'll get other employees complaining to your boss to do something. Could have been out of her control.

My boss sometimes gets on me because I pee a lot at work, I don't retain water well apparently. Get yourself checked out before you wreck yourself out with some purple sock diarrhea or something.

**** situation you have there (har de har har, shut up I'm entitled to a **** joke every not and again(I'M ON FIRE, LIKE YOUR BOWEL MOVEMENTS)).

But yeah, unfortunately you don't have a case. If you did actually go to the doctor after she suggested it and nothing came of it, you'd have a case. All the best to you though, pretty tough going.

Best to just chalk it up as life experience. Look on the bright side. Working at a liquor store store I bet you had to put up with a bunch of stupid assholes got to meet a lot of interesting people that you would prefer to never see again. No need for retaliation, so just get your **** together and find a new job (see what I did there?).

Doody.

Screw you, getting a job so easy and fast!

I've been un-employed for 2 months now, I think? And it sucks, Applied and interviewed for so many god damn jobs..

I'll admit, I'm pretty lucky. Where I live pretty much always hiring at somewhere. I lucked out and my buddy hired me to work for his company the day I got fired.

Sucks you can't get a job though. I guess I'm just really lucky

Job hunting these days is strange. I was job hunting for a year straight last year, then the best job I ever had literally came to me completely by chance. It's crazy how big of a crapshoot it is to find a job these days.
