St. Anger has Frantic, Invisible Kid and The Unnamed Feeling. All of which are great songs, especially The Unnamed Feeling. Death Magnetic has The Day That Never Comes. Ride The Lightning? Fade To Black is one of the most beautiful songs they have and it is in no way thrash metal.

People who hate "new" Metallica are just about as dumb as those who burnt their albums during the whole Napster affair.

I really can't stand the 2 newest Metallica albums. Fade to Black is my favorite Metallica song, but if you listen to the rest of the album, it's definitely thrash metal. I mean, sure, all Metallica albums have a couple good songs, but the first ones are the only ones where I can listen to the entire album and not get bored.

I love Metallica, but this argument isn't even necessary, I don't see why one should care what other people negatively think about their favorite band.

Them being overrated is pretty much a fact anyway - but it doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed. If you enjoy them, well, godspeed to you. People literally hail them as Gods, the originators of metal, which they are neither. By definition, they are overrated.

Pioneers of thrash metal, which they are.

Doesn't make me enjoy their music though, I'm afraid. People /do/ say they're the kings of metal, and the first to do it, which simply isn't true.

Overrated is a matter of opinion.

Opinion =/= Fact.

And yes, if I say "Darkened Soul is a douche" it is implied that it is my opinion, but it doesn't change the fact that I state it in a "I think this is true, hence it is fact"-kinda jackass way.

You do realize you were the one to bring in all the "hailed as Gods" subject. Tsuyu has never said anything about it.
You also said it is a fact they are overrated, just because FANS hail them as gods. Moot point.

Also, they were one of the first thrash metal bands so they deserve some credit regardless of the music.

How so? That shows they're overrated by definition. What the hell are you trying to say? There are so many false claims about them, IE being the originators of metal etc. - and they don't deserve it. Hence, overrated.

I'll pass on metallica, sorry they are really overrated...

I do however enjoy copious amounts of Modest Mouse. It's hard not to love songs like 'little hotel', 'i came as a rat', '3rd planet'... All of the lonesome crowded west...
