The Hobbit

To be honest, I liked it better than LOTR. It was a happier place which added a bit of coler to the never-ending doom and gloom of Fellowship of the Ring and onward stuff.

I'm going to come out and say it, but I don't think I've ever been enthralled with those books. I mean, yeah I get why I've never heard someone else say that but it's just too much monotone. Couldn't find anything to relate too as a result, really. I had that problem with both the film and the books and it stopped me from seriously getting engrossed on a personal level.

I'm gonna go hang out with the Harry Potter people guys. And screw the critics!

I've always liked JRR Tolkien more than JK Rowling. But yeah, I know some people don't like 'em. They just have terrible taste.

PROUDFOOT DOES NOT APPROVE

I have no recollection of the movie, but the book ended with hours of hobbit-scaled badassery. Lobelia Sackville-Bagginses kicked ass! With an umbrella, as I recall.

And so did the young'uns.

And also, Frodo I never liked. But I always though Sam was a ****ing pimp-boss-badass. In a weenie-ish kinda way. Like the prototypical dorky, awkward kludge in high school who makes all the girls feel sorry for him, gets no dates, and then ends up ripping out a serial killer's spine.

...Actually, I just realized that Sam and Neville Longbottom are actually kinda similar characters. Only Sam started out at Neville's "**** you guys, you're staying in the dorm" level and only got better, while never really going full badass. And Neville character developed like a boss.

I'm still waiting to see this but it'll probably end up being a DVD venture for me. I'd planned to go see it with my mum and brother seeing as all three of us are huge Tolkien fans but if anyone knows anything about my family, they'll know it's near impossible to make plans with them unless you actually drag them there by the strands of hair on their head.

I love The Hobbit. I think I read it first when I was 9(ish) years old, and a couple more times after that. Read the LOTR shortly after.

The only real criticism I've ever had about the LOTR movies was Elijah Wood's(Frodo) facial expressions. He just had this face you wanna punch.

Went to watch it today with a mate, enjoyed it quite a bit, was good to see Gandalf, elrond, galdariel etc again. Not sure what to think about the CGI orcs (prefered the costume and make up ones from the LOTR) but they still looked impressive. I'm definately going to see the next installments.

Saw it last night and LOVED it. Cannot wait to see the next instalments and I personally couldn't care less how much artistic licence they took with the whole thing. It was brilliant and aside from the little crap behind me kicking my chair on occasion, it was an excellent night out.

Did the little **** survive it? Or is his body buried beneath the popcorn machine?

Tripped him over as he walked past to leave. Then stared at the screen intently like it wasn't me.

Petty? Yes
Childish? Yes.
Utterly satisfying? Oh wow yes.
