Weird problem with my computer and ads.

So, when I first come to this page, prior to logging on, the forums look like this:
Untitled.png

At, say, cracked.com, it looks like this:

Untitled2.png

Do you see what the problem with those two images is?

Yeah. The ads are ****ed up. Which, really, makes me very sad. I swear. But... even though it's not really a bad thing, what it's messed up, it concerns me because it implies that there's something wrong with my computer.

Any idea what the hell is up with this?

Re: Weird problem with my computer and ads.

Just looks like a connection timed out error to me (for the first image), nothing serious.

Re: Weird problem with my computer and ads.

I get the same thing on most sites, the reason is I use an ad blocking program. AdsGone is the name, it not only blocks pop-up ads, but also ads on site pages. I don't think you have a problem, just a program working for you that you don't know about.

So basically it's a worse version of AdBlock Plus?

As Gikoku said, nothing serious. In fact, it's most likely not even a problem on your end. Don't worry about it. When you get something serious, like Agent Smith appearing on your monitor and no way to get rid of him, then you'll have a problem.

It's only on one computer and it's been going on for several days.

That's... a possibility. I know Verizon security suite comes with that... maybe it suddenly started working? Iunno, I'll look.

EDIT: It was the Verizon adblocker. Which is funny, because I didn't think it worked.
