This thread is over a year old, please keep an eye on post dates.

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

I totally wanna check out some must have mods for my next playthrough of TLC. I just want maybe just 2 or 3 really worthy ones to have. Just gotta look into it and see what I'd need/want. I only have FreeRoam running on my game so far, but anything that'd maybe make the enviroment look better and some good retextures or new armor entirely would be stuff I would be into adding.

And from what I've checked out so far you guys do some amazing work! : )

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Guides: me =)

Thx projectego

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Your guides=Suck.

OOOOOOOOOOO BURN!

And stop the self promotion SD. Ahhh... I should stop being a big jerk shouldn't I?

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Your just jealous that you can't use your brain cells to make guides.

OOOOOOOOOOO BURN!

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Hmmm... Completely wrong and unfounded. Here is a guide I wrote a LONG time ago. Getting close to a year now I think...

Making Jack of Blades' Mask Removeable

I realize I spelled removable wrong, I used to be a lot worse with spelling. So in a way, you are lacking the brain power to create a good guide. Now, to get this on topic again, yes, thank all the good modders and such. Good job!

On the off-topic note, I'll be re-writing all of somedude's guides to be proper, expanded and decent, just so that I can get a chuckle when thinking about it while browsing this site.

On the on-topic note, how many modders still frequent the site? I mean capable/competent (real) modders, not people who do small definition edits and call themselves geniuses.

Just one.

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Yeah.

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Yeah, maybe. All I do is retextures. So I am not really all that good or special. :P

And how is that Chamber of Fate thing coming along John?

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

And all I do are guides  Same

I'm still not seeing these guides you speak of...

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

Yes, I would, surprisingly enough, like to learn. But I can be a bit slow sometimes. Besides who would actually teach me? :P

Because you are not using the godly SEARCH button :)

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

That was the absolute most largest insult I have ever seen. And too bad you don't see the term FUBAR too often. Well, go SNAFU.

The threads labeled suckage... Sometimes you crack me up.

No need to, it will be the threads labeled "suckage".
Change book's storys!
Change Silver Key chest number!
Gold changer
HOW TO CHANGE CUTSCENES!
How to change house prices!
How to change the max age!
HOW TO MAKE BANDITS YOUR FRIEND AND NOT BE EVIL
Want to change quests?

All of these are flawed.
  1. Of most importance, the instructed method of edits are improper. Any inexperienced person following those guides would end up FUBARing his Fable with no idea why it happened.
  2. There is no reason given as to why people would want to change these, or what the benefit is.
  3. There is no explanation of what the edit does.
I could list more, but then I wouldn't respond until tomorrow. The point is that the guides are of little quality. Worse is that when given advice from more experienced modders you shrug it off. Instead of being defensive and playing that you are helping people, you should take the advice into consideration and edit the guides to reflect this. The hardest thing about keeping a modding community working right is fighting misinformation. All it takes is for a handful of people to read your guides, assume that you know what you're talking about, tell others the information as told by you, and now you have a bunch of people with problems related to your guides, and when asked what they did all they'll say is "I don't know" making it very hard to help them, which upsets the experienced modders because they know that it was one little prick spreading misinformation. It's not one of those "more harm than good" things, it's just harm. I don't think anyone should take anything you say seriously until you learn to accept criticism and fix the problems. Until then you're not doing anyone a favor.

Any constructive criticism for the limited guides I posted in my youth, Uncle John?

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

I didn't see any limited guides anywhere, or were there some that weren't stickied? Your stickied ones helped me a lot when I first started out. I guess for that there is some +rep in order. :D

Re: Well done, Fable modders!

John, just sit down and shut up before I slap you XD
