Axes! BRING ME AXES!!!!!! *roar*

I love axes too.
All that... strength. haha.
I also like the longbows.

Hell yes the axes. I'm the ax-wielding nerd, after all, what would I be without it? Just another nerd, that's what. I do hope there are more varieties of the individual weapons, though, or we can change the styling. I got BORED always having an ax that looked basically the same. But yeah, an ax and... I'll have to play some before I decide, but I usually like using my ranged weapons really long-range, so whatever's most accurate and long-ranged, probably.

Axes are gey...
nothing beats the sword!
Im gonna have a gigantic sword, and use teleport to appear behind enemies.. ninja style!
Like Cloud from FF VII (only saw the movie, but damn! that guy had like a bazillion swords inside a gigantic sword)

A) You misspelled gay, and B) Axes kick ass! Swords require finesse or skill, MAYBE but an ax you can really get into the hewing of limbs and heads. AND when you get bored you can go chop some wood. [sage nod] Also, you're significantly more likely to beat aside a sword with a big, heavy ax than you are the other way around.

Ha, yes! Even better than the ax. Not sure what the second image is, though, I'm getting the red x.

And yeah, Keaton, it'd be really cool to carry more than one of each type. Maybe hard to control, though. Maybe not.

I cant say Gay... so it was my intention to misspell gay as such: gey..
Axes are for orcs and brutes (read: boring/gey) Swords are for the most awesome character ever created... the ninja.
I mean how lame would it be if a ninja started swinging an axe?
or if link went "omfg I haf 2 faind a b3tt3r w3pon" and sum1 gave him an axe?
Excalibur is actually and axe...
or instead of lightsabers they'd have lightaxes, and Darth Maul'd have a double headed lightaxe...

Buttom of line: Swords f4ck1ng rule!!!1!!!1, or and axes dont.. they suck

EDIT:
omfg! I can say gay? lolololol awesome!
erhm... axes are gay..

There ye go. Have some Japanese axes. Ninjas? No. Close enough, though.

There are lots of types of axes, to serve many purposes.

I have dreamed of a lightax since I was ten years old. [wipes tear from eyes] Alas, I fear I shall never have it.

And if Excalibur were an ax there would've been none of that "of, no, I got my weapon stuck in a rock." No, it would have been more along the lines of "damnit, I just busted ANOTHER rock."

Also, Hephaestus/Vulcan? Thor? All those boys? Those things they had weren't hammers. Hah! A conspiracy, to hide the excellence of axes, that's what it is!

Re: what weapon

Yeah Walker, because you can forge weapons with an axe...

I'm just gonna say, I love all metallic weapon instrumentation, but a spear will own the faces of axe-sword wielders alike.

Re: what weapon

pppssssh.
A spear.. Laaaame. haha.
Axes are just plain awesome. The end.

Re: what weapon

You shut your dirty woman mouth. You don't talk about spears that way.

(Yes I can say that. because I'm DirtyJim, and her mouth has been on me.)

SO NAH!

EDIT: To save My own arse. I meant "on me" in the mouth to mouth area. That is all.

Re: what weapon

Thor's hammer... its not called Thor's axe
Im from Denmark, Danish Vikings are the REAL vikings! (norther mythology)
We ruled all of england, sweden and norway and parts of germany.
we even f4cking discovered America before Columbus did!
Thor's hammer: Mjølner, donno what you call it in english.. Mjölner? its NOT an axe
sword of aeon
avos tear
both swords, and both better than an axe
gotta go pick up my bro from soccer, later!

O.o Soldier!
I'll talk about spears all I want and you cant do anything about it cuz you're "in another state" haha so there.
Axes are only for the manliest of men.
For all the woodcutters and muscly men. haha
....Spears..

You're right. A thrown spear or one used as a polearm will beat a sword; and will (probably) beat an ax... unless you use it as a polearm, in which case a big enough ax definitely has a chance. Or if your opponent is actually good with the ax.

However, I was actually talking about a specific incident mentioned in one of my classes. When Athena was born, Hephaestus* hit Zeus on the head to crack it open and let her be born. The word used is (apparently, I don't speak/read Greek) ambiguous, and could mean hammer or ax. Also, hammers often WERE axes, and vice versa. The two tools can be combined pretty easily, and often were. And, on the pottery I've seen, Hephaestus's hammer often looks suspiciously like it has an axblade on the reverse.

*AKA Vulcan. Thor isn't really connected, but I remember hearing something about a similar ambiguity in the hammer/ax words for the Norse myths.

Also, I would make a lewd comment about how your girlfriend doesn't seem to like your spear, but that would be inappropriate. Wildly so. Ooops. Ah... I'm sorry, did you hear something? [joking...]

EDIT: DAMN, I managed to get pedantic AND offensive. Fortunately, you two beat me to making some part of the joke yourselves. So I feel better now.

And Kalevra? I'm not an expert on Norse myth, even more than I'm not an expert about Greco-Roman myth. So I should probably take your word for it. Or not.

Although, if I remember aright, the Danelaw or whatever it was called only covered part of England/Britain.

Re: what weapon

Alora, do you seriously have to call me Soldier on here. Everyone knows My name is James/Jim. And yeah yeah whatever you just wait till you come over again, you'll be sleepin' on the couch.

And Walker, I do realise that, I've seen many cases myself, but I mean an axe alone. Warhammers were usually half axe/hammer, or half axe/spear.

I just like weapons used for horse cavalry.

And yes I know that's why I edited My post. Don't worry about it bro. I do it all the time.

Hahaaa. That was great. Thanks for the laugh. bwaha.

And that's pretty cool, what you put in about Zeus.
I didn't remember that story.

WOAH. Your name is Jim? News to me. Huh.

Sorry, no, I was replying to your comment implying that Hephaestus didn't have an ax because it couldn't forge weapons. It's just that axes and hammers run together a lot.

And I could pedantically bicker more (like, say, point out that some axes/hammers were cavalry weapons (okay, more were ANTI-cavalry weapons) but I won't because I'm a good little boy.

[nods] Really! I swear!

So glad I wasn't just amusing meself.

Also, yes, I am a nerd. But in my defense I just got out of my Greco-Roman myth class about... [counts] 28 hours ago. Thanks.

Re: what weapon

i think i want a rifle and a staff of some sort (if they have em)

Re: what weapon

Seriously Walker? You didn't know I was a Jim? lol. Even with My gamertag? I'm gonna assume that's a joke. lol. Yeah we could probably rant all day about weapons and such. It's something we nerds can do. lol.

Yeah.. He does do it all the time. haha.

Ok then... James, honey, darlin, child.
I'll be less.. impersonal.
Psssssh, .....sleepin on the couch.... riiight.

Edit: And hey, I'm real big on the Greek gods too.
I loooooove them. My favorite is definitly Aphrodites..
She has the power to make people do It haha.

Re: what weapon

OOOOOh, you DO have a gamertag that says your name is Jim. Actually, I did probably notice that before, but stuff like that doesn't always mean much. I call myself Walker, but no part of my name is Walker. Well, my middle initial is "W," but that's as close as it gets.

Ha, yeah. My problem is that I tend to annoy people with it. Say I'm sitting in the discussion class for, just as an example, Greek and Roman myth, and I start arguing over why Psyche could become a goddess and cheat death but Admetus couldn't get away with cheating death even once. For some reason I get, or seem to get, a little bit too intensely into these things. Like debates about the relative merits of weapons which I have never personally used. Well, unless you count cutting some tree roots.

And I really am in a perv mood today. I saw Vinigy's post and thought something along the lines of "HA! I already have a staff." Incidentally, yes, I do want a quarterstave or something like it.

EDIT: Hephaestus all the way. Gotta love a crippled smith who is also a god. Hermes and Hades are somewhat cool, too, but they have issues. I especially like what Hephaestus does to Ares and Aphrodite when he catches them together. Woo-hoo! God porn! And just the fact that he's a smith. Kinda god of engineers. And it's also cool that I can say he uses an ax. Or, sometimes, a big 'ol pair of tongs in battle.

That's what Fable 2 needs. Some big blacksmith's tongs to bludgeon your foes with.

Re: what weapon

I really hope there is a chain and sickel cause I have loved it since the manga Vagabond ( I like samurai and Katana).

Or a daggertail like in prince of persia cause that owns too!

Or a Minigun...

Re: what weapon

Im going to be a gunslinger with lots of nasty guns that i can shoot people with >_> and all people who annoy me will face my bullets MAHAHAHHAHAHHAH also the bloody dog... gonna shoot it >_> or sell him to a irish fella :)=

Re: what weapon

I'll be using the severed limbs of my slaughtered wives.

:ninja:

Re: what weapon

I plan on being something like a Fast, sword/gun, with slow time.

Can't remember fable 1 all that well... =(
