Wooooooooooooooooooohoooo !!!!!

Well, it's been a few years since our last dog died. She was my first, and she was actually a year older than me and was in our house before me, so she was in a very real sense, a member of the family. She was a great dog and it was very sad when we had to put her down.

But now we have a new dog! Free too! She's a 9 month old Staffie Bull Terrier, pure bred, named Tasha (I know, bogan name). My dads friend gave it to us because they couldn't keep it. It's gonna be really great having a new dog in the house, particularly one who wasn't old and decrepit (which is unfortunately all I can remember of our last dog).

Yeah, not that any of you care, I'm just excited! :D

Congrats on the new dog! I still have my favorite dog, shes a bit old but shes doing good.

Cure mutt. No idea what "bogan" means. I'm just filing it under "weird Aussie slang."

And yes, I deliberately called a dog you specified was purebred a mutt. I like mutts. My dog's a big black labrador+whatever-the-hell-else mutt.

(Speaking of which, I'm listening to an audiobook of Tomorrow, When the War Began (read, reasonably enough considering where it's set) by an Aussie woman, and it's surprising how many times I've gone "what? what'd she say?" Khaki sounded really weird. Not sure I could explain why, but it was way different from the way we say it.)

And yes, very little of this post was related to your dog. Oops.

We had to read that book in year 8 English. We hated it at the time, but in retrospect, it seems pretty alright. If you need any help with Aussie slang, I'm your man. :lol:

i understand where you're coming from. we put the dog i grew up with to sleep because he was slowly dying from spinal cancer. that was september of 2007... we just got our new one this past February. so i can say without talking out of my ass that you're in for a real treat.

My cousins have a cute chocolate labrador. While playing a shooting game with them(They are about 5 years old) I fell over pretending to be shot and the dog lept on me. It was a combination of being bitten and licked. Took 5 minutes for it to get off me. I still think its an awesome dog.

I will keep your expertness in mind. And yeah, the book seems pretty good. But I've tried to read it something like three times before and never gotten past the first fifty pages or so. So, [shrugs].

But yeah, enjoy her.

My grandma's dog Sinca (Called that cause it was their fifth dog, and in spanish, Cinco is five, but it was a girl dog) Had to be put down a month ago, it was hard...

Tragically, I must inform you that your grandma's dog went through life misnamed. Six is seis in Spanish. Five is cinco, if that helps.
