World of Warcraft anyone?

Well, I am just trying out the trial and this game is brilliant! I guess 15 a month isnt so much cause think about it.... WoW for 4 months, or a new xbox game? You pick! but anyways... erm... If any of you guys play, I am on the server Chromaggus, and My guy's name is er... Obsideon, an undead rogue! Undead Rogue FTW. Well... just tell me if you play, cause I plan on getting this game soon!

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

I am too terrified to even play the World of Warcraft trial! I've heard that WoW consumes lives and I don't want it to take mine! I've seen that episode of South Park and have been having nightmares ever since...

:P

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

Indeed. Lives and money. MONEY! Sad part is that the South Park episode is a lot closer to the truth than anyone even dares to think...

And Time

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

WoW is evil and a waste of money!!! why play a not that great mmo that you have to pay for when there are thousands of AWESOME free mmo's out there!!

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

If i'm playing i only play on private servers, fast n' free! :)

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

I played WoW for about 6 Months and cancelled it :P

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

It took the life of one of my friends... I won't let it do the same to me.

... I wonder what the hell he's doing now.

Whoah.... that was.... deep...

And to steve and tsuyu, I'm too busy to let it take over. :P

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

This game consumes lives, i played for a couple weeks and found myself getting mildly addicted to it. The only advantage i could see out of it, is selling your character to someone after putting thousands of hours into the game. Very enjoyable though, just no time for it in college.

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

Who pays for WoW these days? Private servers ftw.

Raiding in Sunwell I would guess now that S4 has ended, either that or drooling in a basement somewhere in eager anticipation of Wrath being released.

But yeaaahh... World of Warcraft- consumes lives, eats time, destroys families, kills puppies and maims kittens leaving with them two legs. Still think its just about the best damn game in the world. Ever. Been playing for two years now, still cant get enough.

Tero > Darkspear EU > Gnome Mage
Sprocket > Darkspear EU > Gnome Warlock
If anybodies interested add me or mail me in game.

^Horde FTW alliance sucks.

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

I started hmm

3 years ago maybe?

After a year of playing.

I saw a decrease in my grades.

The only thing that would get me away from my comp was Lacrosse.

ive wasted money and days of my life to that game.

I quit last year =]

and have been of the drug ever since

Bleh who cares. They are all the same, just different chicks with different looking boobies these days.

Horde has got Paladins, Alliance has got Shamans. Worst change in the history of WoW, I'm glad I'm not wasting my hard earned cash on that, seeing the line-up of awesome games for the 360 at the moment.

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

I will never play WoW for as long as I live!

Never!

I want to keep my Soul!

GET AWAY!

Personally I achieved a media shield for best results in my diploma year, got a place in a top English design University and managed to maintain a 4 day a week raid schedule all while under the 'influence' of the aforementioned game- I am currently raiding two days a week and levelling an alt while studying for a degree and working a part time job in Game. I could try and blame the fact I dropped out of Uni or that I didn't have a job for 2 years on WoW but I'm responsible for my own actions and honestly can say that nothing crappy in my life has ever been caused by a game. People who get hooked on WoW, and no offense intended to anybody here at all, need to learn some self control and set themselves limits. Yes its an absorbing game with a 'just one more quest' or 'just another half hour' element to it but you need to know when to say no and log out. Its not the games fault you were incapable of doing that. I don't think Blizzard have a team of gnome Warlocks casting a WoW addiction spell in their basement. Then again....

Cobalt_Gamer... what server you on? I used to know somebody called Cobaltshroud in the same guild as me way back when, just pondering if it could have been you. If you're on the US servers its probably a no tbh lol

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

Meh... I play WoW, but I have recently stopped playing, due to personal issues.
I was a WoW addict. A heavy one that is. I've killed Kil'Jaeden with my guild Towel, shortly before I stopped. But meh, DKP ftl.

However, should I reconsider going to play WoW once again, you can whisper me on Magtheridon (EU), known as Dynne. Once again, should I reconsider.
And yes alliancezorz, I'm a Tauren Shaman.

Re: World of Warcraft anyone?

I still think addiction to games is a media frenzy that has somehow convinced people that if they are really enjoying a game and lack self control to limit their playtime that they are addicted. I believe if it is an addiction, its a mental one, obviously since people to my knowledge do not suffer withdrawl from not getting their fix of WoW, and therefore it is to do with a persons personality traits and not the game itself.

The thing is a lot of gamers spend a huge amount of time playing a variety of games during their average week and this isn't considered an addiction, why not? Because its a variety of games. Warcraft has this thing though that there is a very social element to it and when raiding things fall into a pre-set schedule much like work and people get into the habit of doing things on a rotation like that.

-I have a habit of waking at 8am and going to work which I really enjoy- its ruined my social life, I work too much and because I work too much my grades have gone down. So, am I addicted to work? Should I quit my job? Nope, I enjoy it but if other important elements of my life are going downhill because of overdoing something the logical thing to do is scale back on it, show some self restraint and control.

People need to learn to set themselves limits when doing anything they enjoy, be responsible about things.

O.o I just baffled myself there tbh
