I have no clue, i suppose nothing, because i wouldn't have known a reality with Video Games. If they were taken away now i would have to find a new way to occupy my time.. that and i wouldn't be able to play Hat Simulator 2012 so i would probably break down and cry. (TF2)
Id probably be a lot fitter than I am currently and would have probably taken up a sports hobby more like the Boxing I did when I was younger.

It's the same with any "what if" question, we wouldn't care because we wouldn't know any different. With the development of computers and the like, the appearance of video games seemed rather inevitable, though it's possible things may have happened differently. For me personally: I'd probably be a lot more focused on more important things and would probably experience the emotion of rage a lot less often.
Then we would never know what video games are... the world keeps spinning:sly:
Movies, radio, TV, theater, drugs and prostitution all still exist. We would be fine.

That's true, we wouldn't know what it is to ever be hurt by the loss of it. But the use of video games for me have always been a good escape from the stress and hardships of reality more so than a number of my other beloved hobbies. So I have to wonder what my life from an emotional and psychological standpoint would be like today if not for it. Probably not all that good.
Also means that consequently this forum wouldn't even exist let alone meeting any of you lovely guys. Now there's a terrible thought.
Here here, I'd be much more into my practicing of Wing Chun, drawing, and other hobbies if there weren't any video games. Not sure if I should personally look at video games as a blessing or a curse... maybe both.

Yeah all of our forums wouldnt exist besides Greyviper and a lot of my spare time is spent on our forums so id have much more of that to fill. Id certainly be down the gym a lot (currently dont have the time) and id have more money as I wouldnt spend it on Video Games and Video Game systems and big TV's. Gaming helps me relax and takes my mind off the daily grind of the real world.
I'd probably be even less social than I am now - and that's currently not very social at all. I'd probably be more bored and although I'd like to pretend I have a tonne of real life stuff to do if I wasn't playing games...well, that would be such a massive lie. We all know that all I'm good for is reproducing and complaining about it.

I'd like to think I'd be getting laid, but I have reason to believe that wouldn't be the case.
I'd be out hiking and playing rugby, I probably wouldn't have as many headaches (eye strains a real bitch.) I'd probably listen to music even more than I do now.
I guess we would have just kept doing what we used to do.

I'd say that I'd most likely be waaayyyyy more literate than I am now, always enjoyed reading but for a good few years that was taken up by gaming, more fun 
so I'd say eliminate games and I'd of substitute in reading, or perhaps more exercise, may have been out and about more and maybe gotten into sports, those are most likely my alternatives.

I like how everyone just assumes that video games have had a negative impact on their lives and they would be a better person without them, for sure. :wat:
Assumes? I think it's more of a realization, video games are very easy to pick up and get into and the lazier a person gets, the more appealing games become in comparison to saaay.. a hobby that is much more physical. Even more so when you've got games that are terribly addictive.

So? I would definitely not be a better person by default. Had I never played games on the family PC when I was younger I would not have been able to grasp the English language like I do today. Baldur's Gate II did more for me than my English class. So there are definitely positives with video games.
But I guess that we're all pretty flubbery and it is easy to be a self-loathing gamer.

Everybody isn't the same, and I never said there weren't any positives with video games. Like I mentioned several posts above, games were able to at times help me where my other hobbies had failed whenever I was stressed, down in the dumps, etc. But I can say without a doubt that I would have done more productive things with my spare time if it weren't for video games.

You have to agree that the general attitude of us gamers on this topic is rather amusing though.
I'd say it is, but I was never one for excessive exercise, never followed or played football or sport in general, spent good bit on reading and gaming (snes FTW lol) but then me, my brother and cousin would enjoy the SNES and take turns, so obviously this was a social bonding time and me reading on my own in a corner in this scenario would me me an extreme recluse in later life lol, cant exactly say what I'd of done in the absence of video games, always been their - I didnt say it'd increase my grades or anything, instead of being distracted by video games it would be by something else, but I can see myself spending the time I sat alone playing various games, sat alone reading or something similar
