Dreams

Re: Dreams

This may not sound scary to you, but it scared me when I was younger. I had a dream where I was on a train track and I avoided one coming at me. I then went onto this bridge. There were these 2 people and I went to fight them. The bridge collapsed me and I fell to the ground. I woke up(It turns out I had only been asleep for 2 hours). This freaked me out. I had never died in any of my dreams. I was like 7 at the time and dying, even in a dream, scared me. It was how I died. Just falling so suddenly. I think thats whats given me a fear of falling.

Re: Dreams

I always have dreams when I fall, I quite enjoy them to be honest. I've only had one nightmare involving falling, and it wasn't even me who fell. It was my sister, she fell off the edge of a cliff.

Re: Dreams

I've had a few dreams where I fell off a cliff, wake up just before I hit the rocks on the low tide, always makes me jump :P

Didn't think, this would get to 3 pages, thanks for sharing everyone.

Is anyone else using a dream diary, technically I am but not used it for months, need a die hard kind of dream to get me back into it.

Re: Dreams

I have one, but I only write the REALLY AWESOME dreams, like the one where I could choose how I died (I wasn't told this but I just entered the dream knowing that) and I gave myself a hell of a load of stuff leading up to my death. That must have been a lucid dream.

Re: Dreams

One of my dreams, I committed it to memory. I was a serial killer and I slaughtered nearly an entire community, I was arrested and brought into jail for questioning, they asked 'why' and all I did was laugh and lick a cut on my arm, they put me into an asylum and my mind went spinning through several psychotic/creepy scenarios. Including one which became 'Lost in Wonderland'

Re: Dreams

I used my diary for the first time in a month this morning, dreamt of me having a birthday, a nun from work came, which was creepy, and a family dog which just proves it was a dream! Because parents hate dogs, plus someone made me a cake out of salad cream. 0.o

Re: Dreams

i only remember the dreams that disturb me. maybe i only dream about disturbing stuff, who knows.

Flight
one i was flying, but i couldn't control it. like gravity just sort of turned off for me and i started floating up in the air and freaked out watching my neighborhood shrink. for some reason this dream makes me think of the old disney cartoon gargoyles, so a psychological analyst would say that it probably resulted from watching some part of that show.

Night Terror
i had night terror once after i saw disney presents: the legend of sleepy hollow. i was 6 and i woke up in the middle of the night. was too scared to get out of bed for 3 hours before i full on sprinted to my parents room. i knew my room was empty, but for some reason i kept convincing myself that he was in my room under my bed, waiting for me to try and leave.

Wolfskin
the other one i dreamed my kindergarden teacher was teaching, and she spontaneously took out a wolfskin costume (this is likely after i was introduced to the goosebumps perspective of werewolves) . she'd put it on, zip it up, and become a wild animal and chase the kids around trying to eat us. every once in a while she'd take it off and re-earn our trust. then she'd start putting it back on and reply to us screaming at her not to with a simple "don't worry about it". the costume would go back on and the chase would resume. that one seriously stuck in my mind ever since it happened. ****ing crazy psychological for something spawned from the mind of a 2nd grader.

Re: Dreams

I've been trying to remember my dreams for about a year now. I can remember most of them very clearly now, but lucid dreaming is a whole different matter.

I did the sleep-paralysis to induce lucidity method. So first, you lay PERFECTLY (Seriously, close your eyes, do not wiggle your toes, the only thing you are doing is breathing) for about 30-60 minutes. Then you go into sleep paralysis.

I did that, but at around 40 minutes, I sneezed. So I moved to my side, to just go to bed regularly, and it hit me. It felt like my dad was sitting on me. Seriously. So I open my eyes (Not a good thing, you may hallucinate) and I have an entire mirror as my closet doors, so my eyesight is fuzzy around the edges, but I couldn't even move around.

I heard the whiz of traffic, like a busy NYC street, and a dog barking. So I shut my eyes, and start dreaming. I was aware that I was dreaming, but I couldn't do anything about it. Kinda sucked, going through all that and not being able to do anything. It was creepy as crap though, because I felt like someone was leaning over my bed and breathing on my neck when I was in sleep paralysis.

Haven't tried inducing lucid dreams since.

Re: Dreams

I know a great method of how to lucid dream. Write an A [a stands for awake] on your palm and in any weird or miraculous things happens look at your palm and check for the A if your palm.if there is no A your palm you are dreaming, but if there is an a in sight you are awake.Happy dreaming :)

Re: Dreams

When I was little I used to have terrible night terrors, I ended up having to see an evil witch (phycatrist or however you spell it) I used to get out of my bed in the middle of the night and run out into the hallway (still asleep) And starting screaming, but screaming in German, I don't know any German and I was only like 6 or 7, but I got monitered and it was definatly german. A few years later me and the witch discovered what I was dreaming, apparently I would dream I was a nazi soldier being chased by russians and their dogs, and I was screaming "Oh god please don't let them get me! I only joined the army for my family! No Save me!!" And just random cried for someone to help me. Rather strange no?

that is the strangest thing on the net let alone this fourm.

I don't have dreams.

Re: Dreams

When I was little I nearly always had complete control over my dreams, but I as got older and matured I stoped having dreams (as far as I can remember). Oddly, Now dreams are coming back, but they arent as vivid as they were when I was young nor do I have much control over them... I figure as I got older, sugar coated happy endings werent my expectation anymore, so I stoped having good dreams. Now my dreams are all nightmares or make you go "WTF??? O.o" Sometimes a little of both...
Though the last time I was sick I had a dream where I was in LOTR and just kept wacking off Orks' heads with a giant sword... :D Ahhhhhhh... good times. :P

Re: Dreams

I remember one time I fell asleep in the bed of my brothers truck after school. I had a dream I was playing Modern Warfare 2 on Skidrow and I got a killstreak that was a giant orange triceratops with helicopter blades on its back. I just saw +50 +100+150+200 and so on. It was awesome.

Re: Dreams

I had a weird experience few days ago, dreamt I went in my parents room, the day after I had the dream I asked my parents if I came in their room, they said I had.

So apparently I was sleep walking, which really freaked me out, as I've never sleepwalked before.

Everyone has dreams, clearly you just don't remember them.

Re: Dreams

Since we're on the subject, I just woke up from a really vivid, emotional dream. Literally 20 minutes ago.

I was living with my dad, in a house/granny flat sort of situation (I was in the house), and he got diagnosed with some disease, and the doctor said he only had a few weeks to live, so he got sent home to live out his days. But all we did was fight about me trying to make his last days more comfortable, and I was constantly crying and upset in the dream. Even just thinking about it now makes me emotional. Then, with a few days left before he was supposed to 'expire', he invited me and my mother and sister into his flat for dinner, and when I got there it was just really cool. He played me all these songs on the Piano that he'd learnt, and we just had a good time. I woke up during that session.

I'm literally tearing up thinking about it.

Re: Dreams

I don't know why, but I always dream of things involving great imagination, randomness, and the impossible, such as riding a bicycle in outer space to a galaxy owned by the Spice Girls & Donald Trump, but with Malcom McDowell as my sidekick.

Here is what I dreamt last night:

Dreamt it was the winter and Christmas was only a week away, it's garbage day and the trash in the back is reeking. I roll out the trash to the front of the lawn for the garbage men, only to be greeted by a giant hippie-clad military tank that is sporting a bicycle horn. It sits there for what feels like a good 5 minutes as I set my garbage out. The horn honked again, and the lid pops open to reveal a midget Ozzy Osbourne in a leprechaun suit greeting me with " 'ello! ". I don't know what to really make of it, but the whole moment feels normal to me. He offers me a ride to a world of "Wonder, Happiness, and Rock n' Roll." I accept the opportunity and enter the hippie tank to find David Hasselhoff sitting in the back dressed in a futuristic 80s spacesuit, with star-shaped sunglasses and air-guitaring to Aha's "Take on Me" song.

We fly away from Earth on a cruise course to another galaxy where we make a quick stop to pick up the Jetsons and the Jeffersons, as we're making our way to a planet Ozzy calls "Yarda" (I think), George Jetson keeps being a broken record talking about Spacely Sprockets and telling Jane to get him off this crazy thing. We finally get there, and the planet Yarda is filled with huge mushrooms, flying cars and floating cities, the sky is pink and the grass is a dark blue-green. At this point I'm eating cotton-candy and Ozzy gives us a tour, he informs everyone that we have to bounce off the Sonic the Hedgehog springs, then bounce off the giant mushrooms to land in the first floating city.

We bounce to the city successfully, but before Ozzy takes us to our next destination.. my cat unfortunately wakes me up at an attempt to lay down on my face.

Re: Dreams

^That is awesome, my dreams are comparatively lame, though still epic, two nights ago I dreamed:

I was a Swordsman in a Medeival military, we all spoke with American accents though, we seiged a castle, it was pretty epic though un-imaginative, we had two of those towers that latch onto walls, making stairs and a bridge to get on top of the wall, about six Catapults and a Battering Ram, about three hundred soldiers, versus this castle of like two hundred people, but they mostly had bows and Crossbows, daggers, etc. They killed some of us as we stormed them, some of us get hit with Boiling Oil, I barely got grazed, we went on the walls and made our way through the castle, I covered someone while they grabbed a flag, and apparently grabbing that flag meant we won and they had to surrender. Was pretty cool.
