O and welcome to the forums. enjoy

@Aslinn

I'm guessing he's being sarcastic, especially after reading his past posts in other threads, the last sentence of this quote, and of course not following through with this "promise" when he actually believed I was a female.

Just so yah know... PM is more than happy to use his twitter like a maniac. Drop him a line and get a following.

Or. remember that you're still in a tiny minority and you'll never get your own way.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

Aslinn - I think perhaps your idea of a well-thought-out email directed to the appropriate person at Lionhead, using clear and concise reasons for your concerns and your ideas for how they could do things differently might be a good idea if it's something that you feel strongly about.

I don't know if you'd get anywhere but it might be more direct than the hope that they will pay attention to forum posts, tweets and all the other various social networking sites available. But it's better than nothing, I suppose?

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

To be honest I thought most of the woman and males alike looked ugly except for that one whore in Bloodstone you know who I'm talking about.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

I thought all the women looked fine, a fresh change from all those boring supermodel women in most games.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

It was the voices that I liked - the whiney, nagging, battleaxe housewife style voices were perfect. Very British, I must say

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

So...well thought email...is there an email address?
Surely it will not happen tonight as I am drunk, but probably on the weekend?

Gikoku...I know right? I found it hard to make fun of SORAYISS (did allude to the fact he had some sort of crush/relationship with someone online that they thought was a lady...butin the end wasn't) because I was literally concerned for his mental wellbeing...granted he is actually a man OH NO SHE DIDN'T!!! Just getting him back. But seriously...I HATE when guys do that, "A possibly attractive girl...YOU ARE NO GIRL...LIES LIES LIES!!!!" It wears really thin after awhile...I can ASSURE everyone I am a lady with lady bits. I even got a new stalker tonight which is partly why I'm not asleep even though it is 5am here...besides being drunk.

I know how you feel, my other female friends tend to receive the same treatment. I don't really understand why many men feel it's like an amazing anomaly to see an actual woman on the internet (and an attractive one at that), or playing video games then feel the need to suck up to them and be all nice when they find out you're a real female. Maybe they've been living life being surrounded by sausages & tomatoes for too long, or watching too many movies where women are goddesses who don't do the everyday small things in life.

I don't know, but be aware that there aren't many people here who are like that... not in the other sections anyway.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

Hey guys, I have some input to the dis - really?

*walks out*

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

i agree the ladies need to be thought of more nowadays, ****es me off but i have to say, this is not a mans world because if it was, a true man would give power to the woman. why? not because we want them to have control but because they would think theyd have power over men and that would be so ****ing cute  such a turn on. aw i can imagine my baby girl ordering me around and stuff... TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF!! GET ON TOP OF ME!! PUNISH ME!! mmm.... but men would still be in power wed just pretend we werent when the ladies come around haha and imagine a sexy chick as president i mean come on! imagine sexy girls everywhere, orgasms 24-7

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

actually, Sorayiss, it's more of a woman's world now.

When a man says something to a woman that might be seen as offensive, he's sexist.

When a woman does it, she's just having a laugh.

Youtube: Oven Pride and watch the ad. Their slogan was this: "So easy a man could do it!"
Despite the fact it's blatantly sexist against men, it was never taken off air. If it was the other way around, I bet it'd never have seen the light of day.

Another brilliant example are "feminist groups." "Female only" things. I understand if it's like "how to have your period" or whatever women do [I'm not one so I wouldn't really know] then okay, fine. But normal things [For example, just off the top of my head: In-school clubs, stage groups, stuff like that] is seen as them being "independant" or "liberated" or whatever. Now, if a man were to start a club and say no women allowed, well... It wouldn't last long.

Now then. This has gotten too serious, so to take care of the stupid/clever balancing I will now do this.

Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate!

Yar - har - fiddle-dee-dee, being a pirate is all right to be!
Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate!

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

I like pirates. But I like ninja-pirates more, or pinjas, they are rare and powerful! Like a charizard card or something...which I have somewhere lol.

SORAYISS...again...WTF?

EDIT: Purple...anyone who says "dis" doesn't have the right to make fun of anything.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

Quick question for those in the know - are there any female game designers in the industry? Ones who get to determine the appearance of characters? I know there are women involved in game design but I've never seen one. And if there are women designers, perhaps they have to market towards men regardless?

I'm waiting for a feminist gaming company to be created, if it doesn't already exist...now that should be interesting...

And this is basically why they cater for men in video games. Because the vast majority appear to be this easily pleased - women, on the whole, seem to be much more discerning. Your average teenage boy just needs to see a pair of breasts and he's already making a mess all over his Superman duvet; these are the ones with the highest disposable income, these are the ones queuing at 12am to get the first copy of whatever, and these are the ones the companies cater to because it's cheaper, easier and quicker to give them what they want as opposed to those who have more than a one dimensional view of what's attractive.

One of Lionhead's designers is a female.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

I want there to be more female game designers, I think the idea of a all-female game company it would be amazing lol. Finally games for women! And not **** like barbie or whatever...*shudders*. When I was a kid I like came up with a game I thought would be cool. You were a cartoon wolf (like crash bandicoot or spyro)...I don't remember much about it now.

I still can't get over what SORAYISS said...just...ergh...It's people like him that make me hate the world, and die a little inside everytime they open their mouths.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

An all-female development studio would be pretty interesting.

There are female game designers (not many in terms of lead), Roberta Williams was the game designer for King's Quest which didn't appear to be marketed towards men or teenage boys.

There's Jade Raymond of Ubisoft, but it's obvious that the only reason many men talk about her is because she's "hot" and not so much for her game directing talents, she's on camera a lot and people are believing she's using her "looks" to sell her games. Amy Hennig of Naughty Dog who is Director & Script writer, but her games still appear to be sort of marketed towards male players with sexy female characters, even though they've been given deep and realistic personalities with a good amount of intelligence.

There's female designers over at Maxis who develop the Sims games and have marketed the title more towards the female demographic, but that's probably EA's doing (being the Publisher and all). There's plenty of female game developers out there who work on character rendering but they don't have much say so.. they do their job and render the characters and be done with it.

There's also Anita **** (jokes & puns aside on the name), Connie Goldman, Carla Meninsky, Carol Shaw, Dona Bailey, Dani Berry, etc.

The women listed have been noted for evolving the industry with new ideas for gameplay & storytelling, but for also creating some damn good games.

And anyone that doesn't realise that I was half way through saying 'discussion' but then got interrupted by the wall of bickering above me shouldn't need to edit their post saying what you said. -_-

I mostly agree with whats been said (well, what I've read of it), I think the people of Albion need some serious transformation (I lolled at the person that said that was how British people looked. LOL!).

But I must also say that I wasn't too impressed by the women either. Aslinn, just because they have big tits doesn't make them attractive...

Porn is ruining people's conceptions.

A lot of Porn isn't focused around large breasts. There's a billion different types, man.

Fox News is ruining Porn.

Re: For the ladies...Because we played this too

Lionhead needs more perverted women, don't deny it, you know its true.

Mainstream porn IS largely focused on large breasts. There are many colours to the rainbow, yet the most common colours are blue and red. Based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever.
