I am going away until Monday afternoon as i shall be going to Download Music festival from Wednesday morning (9th June) until 14th June.

Yeah DS... Seriously? I am all for the underground bands, but some mainstream is really good. H.I.M is pretty mainstream, Marilyn Manson is also, and he is still my favorite musician. Even the really really mainstream ones like Three days Grace come out with a good one occasionally.

Rock/Metal hasn't been mainstream since the early 90's anyway. It is all about them all the Britney Spears and Jonas Brothers of the world in this day and age.

Not here, WEBN and 96ROCK all play old and new metal. They even play some underground-ish bands like Violent Soho and from midnight to 1AM (They call it Damnation Alley) they play Death Metal and "Satanic" artists like Manson, Gorgoroth and Cradle of Filth.

Of course some play it, you can't kill the metal after all. But when was the last time you heard a rock/metal song on MTV? They don't even have Headbanger's Ball anymore, it is all Rap/Hip-Hop or some Lady Gaga-esque Pop s****.

I don't get VH1 rock, just normal VH1. I thought they had headbanger's ball on Saturdays! :O
Fuse also used to play some good stuff, now they don't.

I want my coffee black, like my metal :'( at least Grunge occasionally pops up.

I'm pretty sure VH1 is VH1 Rocks. But only at certain times, since VH1 doesn't always air old rock songs, sometimes they air Disco and then the little icon changes to VH1 Disco or something.

Meh, CJay 92 is all about the new rock garbage, and crap that somehow passes off as "metal". And The X plays alternative, rock, and grunge. So I usually listen to that.

No, I do understand where DS is coming from. I really dislike alot of mainstream stuff, and I do remorsefully tend to group 'mainstream' music in at the shallow end.
