@Skotekal, I'm seriously hoping you're covered under a warranty because otherwise, you're screwed. I almost never get a warranty on anything, unless I can't get out of it or it's free (because I'm cheap), but then accidents do happen, so...

Couldnt agree more and im going to start handing infractions out to anyone who continues this now as im tired of this childish behaviour.

Im the same to be honest, i rarely take out a warranty. Everytime i have paid extra to have one the product has broken either a couple of days or a couple of weeks after it expired. I think companies place some self destruct chip in them to cause it.

Thanks for the concern guys, and I knew I was gonna need that future addition part to my thread, but it failed.

Now I know you wanna see a picture of it, so I went through the trouble of hooking my phone up to bitpim and fishing through the filesystem. Man, they make it hard to find some pictures in there. Weird foldernames. :lol: It is a crappy picture.

That is one nasty crack, quite the damage you did there. However it seems only the screen is damaged which is a little bonus.

Yeah, I'm happy it still works, and that it didn't do that thing where the image inside shifts with the cracks. Still a little annoying though. I just can't believe I didn't put it in my pocket. I'm so stupid.

Warranties...I hates 'em. My view is if you need a warranty in the first, say, three years then the item you bought wasn't worth the money. These days nothing is built to last, it would seem...

Nasty bit of damage there though...maybe there is a way of getting the crack sorted, as Trawgdor posted. This is why I really dislike stuff which is meant to go in the pocket or somewhere similarly convenient yet is seemingly built out of fairy wings and rainbow sparkles. You'd think the makers of such items would think about that sort of thing before production. Unless it's because they want you to fork out for the extended warranties which almost never cover the damage which ends up breaking your item so you have to pay extra or buy a new one...

That really suck, I got and ipod touch for christmas too, my whole family had to combine money to get it for me, and I would hate myself for breaking it!!!!!!!!

Problem with getting it fixed is I'm not too sure about my warranty. I hope it has the year warranty, and if not, I'm screwed. I have absolutely no money, and if I ask my parents, they will just brush it off and say no. Kind of like when my Xbox broke. I had to fork up 100 bucks. And even if they did, they are camping for the next 2 weeks and leaving me and my brother to start our school year ourselves, and I got no supplies at all. Oh great, that and I cant get my iPod fixed. Wonderful.

The thing that is still really nipping at me is the fact that it was so preventable. Just had to slip it in my pocket. Takes a second. God, I feel like punching myself in the face right now.

I would have thought if you got it for Christmas it would be within the standard 1 year warranty still - whether that covers accidental damage I don't know but it's worth checking out.

Oh Man, That sucks especially because its an ipod Touch and they're all New and Flazzy.. I dropped my Ipod alot and I even slammed it into a desk, Still works.. Totally retarded though! I'll take a picture of it for ya..

Man, now I have to figure out if I have warranty and I still have to send my Xbox 360 wireless mic in, cant believe that garbage broke after a week. While it was still on my head. :lol: If they don't fix it I'm stuck with my current mic, Senior Echo. All you Live players just love that sound don't you? :lol: But I'm just hoping this hunk o' junk will just stay together for me for awhile. And yes, the everything still works, the screen even feels damn smooth for its looks to boot. Out of it all, I'm unlucky I dropped such an expensive piece of equipment. I should have bought a case that goes past the screen. Woulda saved it. But I should just be happy it works, and see if I can suspend my WoW account in the meantime so that friggin' hacker doesnt get in it again. Or maybe because the app is in iTunes it will save the registered serial.

How could you get it hacked? Change your account info and stuff, run virus checks, etc. Downloading too much porn, Kyle?

No, not quite there Alex. :lol:. I'm guessing from an add on. A lot of complaints have come from curse.com not thoroughly checking their addon library and containing trojans and such. I'll scan it overnight.
