OKAY, shut up. None of this is about Fourth of July, Arseface obviously has you beat just give up. Posting more of these responses on a thread that had to do with a holiday eight days ago, and posting about something like cricket and complaining about other sports is so pointless, make your own thread if you take it that seriously.

I can't tell if you're all really ****ed or not. This is me and Arse arguing the immaterial to a inconclusive death of boredom. There is no ire on either side, and we're just having fun.

The last Baseball World Cup featured 22 teams. The last World Baseball Classic featured 16 teams in the tournament, though I didn't bother to check how they decided who qualified and what tournaments lead up to them.

So, both international baseball tournaments featured more teams than cricket, apparently.

The last Cricket World cup featured 19 teams...

I've watched some youtube cricket. I have to disagree.

Only because you don't get it, and you spend the whole time thinking "WTF is going on"?

How is it lopsided? In baseball, the fielders actually have to do something more complex than "catch ball, throw back?"

You get giant gloves to help your fielders catch the ball, and then you have to throw to whichever base has a batsman running to it. Same in cricket, albeit with two less options, but you've actually got to catch it yourself, instead of letting a giant mitten do the work for you.

Also, apparently at the last WBC, Australia curb-stomped Mexico and held their own against Cuba. Not bad. Cuba's a pretty damn good team.

Also, your softball team isn't bad either, from the last Olympics before the bull****EurocentricIOCbull****decision.

But we're just good at every sport we try. We'd own the sporting world if we had a bigger population.

Yeah, the Country versus continent wildlife war is way more stupid. At least there's no wikipedia article dedicated to it.

No, that's not the issue. The issue is that the purpose of the thread was to say Happy July 4th! and here it is, July 12th/13th, and you two are arguing about who has the better sports. No one cares, please stop derailing threads just so that you two can get your arguing fix. At least take it to a different thread for ****'s sake.

Goddamn you people. Is it not possible to simply observe a damn holiday thread, say "Happy July 4th" and then go elsewhere to do your petty, useless arguing? Or have you nothing better to do? Just leave it the **** alone, go somewhere else.

John is right, and I don't want have to close this thread. If you guys want to have fun with your unnecessary arguing then go do it on your profiles or make a thread in the pub games, but don't do it in here.
