How to use a GIF in your avatar. For newbs who don't know how to do it.

Found a cool gif, and you want to show it off in your avatar? Well, here is how!

Step 1: Find the GIF you want to use. For example, I will be using this gif:
2rerz45.gif
Step 2: Go to TinyPic.com and click on "Browse"
Step 3: Choose the gif you want, and double click it.
Step 4: Go to Resize, and choose "Avatar (100x75)"
Step 5: Click Upload.
Step 6: When done uploading, right click on the GIF and click "Save As" or something similar to that.
Step 7: Upload to your avatar.
Step 8: Rejoice! Get out the beer, chips, and dip.

The reason you have to set it to Avatar is because if the GIF is 125x125 px or above, it will get displayed as a still image.

And flamers, read the second part of the title.

That isn't right anyway and reading the second part of the title doesn't change anything.

Animated avatars tend not to work because they take up more than 19.5kb space or whatever it is for non-members. I think the space is put up to 30kb when you get premium membership.

What do you mean there you go again? What's the point in posting a guide if it's wrong? That's like telling a 4 year old that 2+2=5 and when you get told that you're wrong you say "Well, there you go again always correcting me."

I didn't shoot you down, I told you that you were wrong. It happens in life. Don't act like a baby because you're wrong. Besides, you can't hide behind adolescence forever; a lot of members on these forums are adolescent. However they don't act like they have a single-digit IQ.

Grow up.

I don't have anything against you for posting a guide. What I do have against you is that you post a guide, get corrected about it and throw your rattle.

Anyways, this thread was born derailed so I wont bother replying again.

My face hurts from all this arguing. Break it up you two, I sense a large dose of infractions heading this way.

And, to be on topic: Does it matter how big your GIF is as long as it is as little as 19.5kb or so?

For the most part, I really tread carefully when even suggesting how staff should deal with things, as I know that I could be the one who gets booted just as easily, but I must question why you have taken on only infractions and nothing more. It is perplexing to me that your actions aren't banish-worthy. I could give a list of examples of other ban-hammerings and the offenses warranting the use of the ban-hammer, but the return of the ban-hammer is recent enough that people should remember them easily enough. But you, with all of your spamming, trolling and lewd commentary, were excluded from the series of ban-hammerings. My mind is blown by this. I just don't get it.

I have viewed, but stayed out of the drama lately, but I have to agree with John here. When Tsuyu banned a couple of members the other day, Mcbob was involved in the same crap the others were banned for, but was allowed to continue being a jerk. I made a post several days ago to have it answered with an inane remark from this child. I ignored it and figured I would wait for his transgressions to catch up with him, that has not happened. After this post he will certainly say something stupid, but I won't reply to that. I have considered leaving this forum because there is so much crap lately. After some folks were banned I thought it would change, but as long as this child is allowed to continue his actions, there is not enough change.
