I'm in so much ****

My parents have been on my back for homework really bad for the past month or so - and today my dad rang me up while I was wagging (Australian colloquialism for skipping school) and cought me. He's said "We're gonna have a serious chat when we (meaning him and mum) get home."

So yeah - I'm royally ****ed. As a result of this I may be restricted from computer access, so this might be a goodbye.

Re: I'm in so much ****

Yeah that sucks, It happened to me last year, Just try to enjoy your work, even if you dont, find a way to so that you can cope and do it.

I really wish it was as easy as just sitting down and doing it. I've tried to do it any number of times - but the motivation's not there. I know that I have to do it in order to get my VCE (high school diploma or whatever), and I generally need that to get into Uni - which would be really great - but I'm really having trouble motivating myself to do that. I tried practicing my year 12 music pieces the other day (music is what I want to do once I leave school), but I broke down (I think I may be depressed or something) and was really ****ed for the rest of the day.

I decided today talking to my dad that I really don't care what my parents want me to do anymore.

Re: I'm in so much ****

Never heard of the term wagging. Just call it skipping in Canada. We are so plain.

And that sucks man. But I've never skipped before. Well, I skipped the Spring 2009 pep rally. :P

But I understand with the homework thing. I never have the motivation by the time I get home. I have lately though. Just pop in my headphones and listen while I do my homework. I've been actually getting it done and feeling less ****ty for some reason. Just try listening to music or something. You've probably tried this already, so the only other thing I can suggest is doing something that can be done at the same time as your homework. And try not to skip anymore.

I've stated the obvious. So I'm out.

Re: I'm in so much ****

Sorry, man. I hope you get what you need to do done and you manage to stick around or come back. I know the feeling I have a ****load of homework and it's the second day of school. I should go do that.

Also, same here Skoetal. My corner of the US is skipping or cutting.

Re: I'm in so much ****

Sorry to hear that ArseFace. I've never heard of wagging in my life, except for a dog wagging it's tail. Where I live we call it skiving.

Lol.
Depends what homework it was for, i never do my maths homework cause i hate maths (yes, i know its useful in life.) But yeah i guess your going to be royaly ****'d when your parents talk to you. Maybe you might get off with a grounding or something?
Who knows.
Anyways good luck :P

Re: I'm in so much ****

and I am waiting for another 8 years >.< my god, 16 years !

also, i live in the US and wagging would probably be taken to mean long periods of time in the bathroom. :ninja:

It is the same for me as well.

Re: I'm in so much ****

I always managed to get away with my class cutting ways. It probably had something with not answering my phone when my dad called. But yeah, man, that sucks. If they're cool, they'll tell you not to do it again and you'll get away (mostly) scot-free.

Re: I'm in so much ****

That's what you get for skipping school, genius. Don't complain. You brought this on yourself.

>_>

As for the unableness to do work, you might have ADD.

Re: I'm in so much ****

Well, my parents took my beloved computer away from me (I'm on mum's now while no one else is home), as well as my TV. My school is also sending a list of my absences to them every week or something, so no more wagging.

I'll miss you bro.

By the way, we use "Wagging it" here in the UK Midlands too.

Really? It said on Wikipedia that it was an Australian thing.

Yeah, I've been feeling alot better the past two days for some reason. I'm gonna be getting through it, so it's all good.

Nah, my parents know that the last time they grounded me, I got a $900 phone bill (was talking to this girl on the phone coz I couldn't use the net).

In the western US we call it "skippin' school" or "playing hookey/hooky"

Anyway, why skip in the first place?

I think it's really just a fear of having to confront teachers who are all really decent people. I feel bad because I don't do the work for them.

Hey man, I've seen the errors of my ways. Besides, I wasn't really complaining - more of just an insight into my recent happenings.

I dunno. I was feeling depressed alot before Tuesday. I guess it's just all gotten to me a bit.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll still be on, just alot less than usual.
