Re: My religious choice, your options.

So then you've decided to go by Satanist?
....... Was that so hard to figure out? You could have done that on your own.... :P
As long as I don't have bibles pelted at me....... more so then usual anyway.... Enjoy your indulgence in the flesh....

Re: My religious choice, your options.

Oh, Firis, you got to know, you can't be a "Registered" member of the Church of Satan community till your an adult, and you have to pay like, 200 dollars. You can still follow their teachings though. I don't really believe in spiritual part, but I like the physiological and stuffs.
Ask Tsuyu about it, he's really good on the subject.

Stop being an asshole? Sophie Lancaster got kicked int he head until she died for being a goth. I don't want to be the next one.

To me Satanism as a religion seems pretty swiggins, it seems to involve a lot of indulging the sins of the flesh ;)

I didn't realize Gothic people got kicked in the head.:'( I hope you don't, too.

^ I'll second that if for no other reason than it amuses me.

Why the need to shock people though? What purpose does that serve?

Re: My religious choice, your options.

the flying spaghetti monster is god fool!!!!!!

but if shock value is the goal, the people who are more prone to being shocked will be shocked by anything that isnt their religion anyway. "your belifes differ from mine?? bwaaa!!!!!!!" so open minded...

just make up a crazy sounding name for a cult and then just lightly say your in it like its nothing. that should weird them out well enough.

Because after video games get old (Not for a while, L4D DLC is out WOO!!!!!!!!!), there is only 3 things to do:
1. Music
2. Internet
3. Become Maleficus.

+ its FUN!!!!!!

Claim to be a Jewish Interracial Lesbian Satanist Witch Prostitute. That is full of win.

^ "Where theres a will theres a way" - Goku
Also in a semi-unrelated topic:
"What, thats impossible! My balls arent there!" - Some random phrase I remembered from Dragon ball but cant remember who.

Re: My religious choice, your options.

You can make a religion out of anything you like, I reckon. Just get yourself a paper bag, write down a few basic tenets on a scrap of paper such as "all shall pay homage to the bag with M&M's every Friday" or whatever, and pray, honour and worship the bag as much as your new religion requires.

Get some followers, get charitable status so you can avoid all sorts of taxes and off you go. Simple, really. Oh, and be prepared for ridicule, angry established religions trying to convert you to their side instead and possibly martyrdom. It's all good.

Re: My religious choice, your options.

Religion is complex because it is man-made. The vast majority of faiths, however, are almost childlike in their simplicity. But grown-ups don't like simple things so they make it all difficult and awkward.

Re: My religious choice, your options.

^ Mmm I see.. Did you see that Soith Park episode, Not too long ago.. And it was a Guy back in the days and he makes his own religion? Its hillarious. (Doesnt make a religion on purpose) Its awesome! Just shows how easy it would of been to convince the minds back then..

Re: My religious choice, your options.

I haven't seen South Park since about 1998... but Family Guy did an episode where Peter made his own religion and it really is pretty easy, so long as there are enough people willing to join in to make it seem more credible. Otherwise you're just another crazy person talking to the sky, aren't you?

Back to the topic at hand - if you really want to shock people, pick a belief system and actually follow it diligently, consistently and constantly. Rare to find people who actually bother to do that these days (particularly in Western society) so you're bound to raise a few eyebrows in the process ;)
