I have to do a research paper and I've been researching what people have decided is better, originals movies vs Remakes. 70s movies. And I need a percent of people opinions for each of the movies I have listed.

The only remake that comes to mind is John Carpenter's The Thing. And that's not a complete remake, and it's a 80's movie.

No remake in your list surpassed the original.

I`ve only seen Star Wars (except part III) so I can`t vote. Sure, the first ones don`t have Han and Part I was pretty crap, but the second movie was nice.

PS! I`m planning a full Star Wars marathon with me mates.

No it isn't. The thread clearly states "Original vs Remake". He also says the same thing in the original post.

The new Star Wars movies sucked anyway, and while they didn't suck per say the sequels couldn't hold a candle to the masterpiece that is the original Godfather.

Um...the question is: "Which are better than first or original?"

I think that's pretty clear, and when it came to the options of Star Wars and Godfather, I said: "The First Godfather" and "The First Star Wars".

Eh, well. As I said, SW Part I was crap. Part II was nice, maybe I`m biased since it has Plo Koon. Haven`t seen Part III yet.

Some remakes that are better in my opinion:
Omega Man vs I Am Legend
The Time Machine (1960) vs The Time Machine (2002)

Edit: :lol: first and original are the same thing.

You're in for a hard time, bub. The '60s and '70 stuff is almost always superior to the remakes. Anyhow, I got another example:

The Jaws series.

The original Jaws, by Spielberg, was released in '75. I don't think any sane person in the world would say that the pathetic sequels that movie spawned to be superior to the original. If you do, however, you most definitely have something to write about!

I had that one, but there wasn't enough poll options to add those, and I didn't think a lot of people cared as much for Jaws then like Star Wars or Godfather.
