Rep System Disabled - Possibly Temporarily
Hi,
I know a lot of you like the rep system but I've sort have been forced to disable it. The forum software that we use is the most bloated, resource hungry thing in the universe and as the release of Fable 3 nears our traffic goes up. Those of you who were around during the launch of Fable 2 will remember the site going down for around 12 hours - this is because of the massive influx of traffic we received coupled with the - in my opinion - unoptimized, clumsy forum software we use now. Were it so easy I'd consider switching to Invision Power Board.
Anywho, in order to reduce server load - that just that little extra bit - I've decided it best to disable this feature. I don't like it anyway so it's not something I'm going to miss but it may make a return if my benchmarks yield similar performance results. We'll just have to see. Although, I imagine most people would not have even noticed the rep system being disabled had I not mentioned it.
No other features will be disabled. In fact, I'd like to add a few. A few teeny tiny features that have already been added include a few new and revised options under your User CP page, including an area for you to enter your PSN ID, should you have one.
Feel free to discuss if you like.
