Never even heard of the rumours about it. Just bought it from the shop one day thinking 'Man this is good'. After purchasing this I heard that The Bereaver is the best sword. So I went and got it and thought I just wasted all my Silver Keys. Gutted. Is the item in that Demon Door random anyway?

The Bereaver isn't the best sword in the game. It can be made to be the best using Augments, but it is equal to Solus in damage. Both do 285, except Solus has a Sharpening augment on it. Bumping it up to 314.

The increase in damage is compounded, ie
285+28.5=313.5(314)
313.5+31.35=344.85(345)

I proved this with the Master Great Hammer:
202+a sharpening aug adds 20.2 damage,
add another aug and it adds 22.3 damage.

Yeah, that's just Fable II.

Take the Master Great Sword as an example, it's damage is 214, add three sharpening augmentations and it becomes 285.
214+21.4(10%)=(235.4) 235
235+23.5(10%)=(258.5) 259
259+25.9(10%)=(284.9) 285

Seeing the rising number of topics about this subject, I decided to make a sticky about the truth;

Dragon Soul Sword

No matter what you've heard, there is NO Dragon Soul Sword. However there is one Greatsword that is most likely the origin of these rumours, the Solus Greatsword. The vivid rumours of the Dragon Soul Sword mentions both lady Grey and the shop in Bowerstone North which both are linked to the Solus Greatsword.

If you treat Lady Grey really nice, she will give it to you. This will however take a very long time, or be very very random.

You can buy it in that shop, it is always there, if you are good or evil, fat or skinny, short or tall, it doesn't matter no matter what the rumour say. It is one of the most expensive items in the entire game though, so be ready to weep over your lost gold.

Dragon Soul Sword?

I'm pretty sure there is nothing in the game called that. The closest thing I can think of is the Solus Greatsword. Which you can purchase from the shop in Bowerstone North.

Yes, thats what I did. When you buy it, it only shows the used slots. But when you go to wield, it shows one extra slot. Putting a sharpening aug bumps it up to 344
