I just got rid of Fable 2!

Wait, wait. Before you all cover me in several flavors of fire, this is what I swapped it for.

But with white stripes, not yellow.

Worth it, y/n?

Re: I just got rid of Fable 2!

Since you can get a copy of Fable 2 dirty cheap now-a-days, yes. I, we, still have to cover you with various colours of fire though. Perhaps just a foot, or a hand though.

Re: I just got rid of Fable 2!

You got ripped off. That looks like such a gimmicky, try hard guitar. Probably plays alright, but it's got no class. Even a cheap Squier would be more tasteful. Not to mention the strings are probably horribly thin.

hurr durr because strings cant be changed right

I don't see what's so wrong with how it looks. Gimmicky? It just looks like a basic V guitar, I don't see these gimmicks of yours.

Speaking of electric guitars; I bought a cheap one just for fun. Then my retard of an uncle came over to show what an amazing guitar player he was and ended up breaking the "lightest" string.

Now, can those be replaced by yours truly, or do I have to take it in somewhere?

Of course you can, and easily. Buy one, thread it through (Look at the other strings for reference), thread it through the tuner and tune.

Stretch string by tugging it (Not too hard, obviously) and tune again.

Re: I just got rid of Fable 2!

Since Fable 2 is £10 and GoTY is like £20... Yes. That's a pretty damn good deal.

Even if it's a mediocre guitar (I wouldn't know, I only play acoustic) it's still probably worth more than Fable.

The fact that it's a flying V guitar? It looks like it's trying to be cool just makes me think that that was it's main priority, rather than actually playing well, besides the fact that it looks pretty mass produced. Not to mention, it doesn't have the class that comes with, say, a Strat, Tele, LP or even an SG. Even copies of those guitars have more class.

And yeah, I know strings can be changed, but I remember playing a guitar like that and the worst thing about it was the thinness of the strings the guy was using. It says more about the mindset of the kind of guitarist who would enjoy this guitar. What gauge do you use?

Yeah, but there's a couple of tricks to threading strings. You have to make sure you wind it in the right direction (clockwise or anti-clockwise, depending on which way the tuning peg is facing), and there are a couple of different ways to attach it to the peg in the first place.

The bottom line is:

  • The guitar sounds great, better than my old one.
  • The guitar plays well, better than my old one.
  • I got it for a mass produced game that I can pick up for about a bloody tenner. I could go out tomorrow and buy another f*cking copy, so would you stop being so negative over it?
  • I'm poor as hell and will get my hands on whatever I can reasonably afford.
Oh, and I use .11 to .54 because it sounds better in drop tunings. Though sometimes I'll use .10 to .52 if I want them just that little bit more flexible.

I don't give a damn about class. I wouldn't have even chose the shape of a V if I had the choice, but for goodness sake, I could buy 30 copies of Fable II for what this guitar is worth - I would have been an idiot to pass this up. I'm considering sanding down the body of my old guitar and using the neck and pickups from the new one.

Oh, and a V can actually be quite practical when performing on stage when performing solos - you can rest it on your knee in the dip of the V, and I like that a lot about this guitar.

Re: I just got rid of Fable 2!

How could you.

Ah, who cares you got a guitar in return, Fable 3 is coming out soon anyways.
