You think so? I really like Buddhism. Now, don't get me wrong, I like my sex, meat and material possessions far too much to become a Buddhist, but unlike the Abrahamic religions I can actually feel a sort of respect for its practitioners. They dedicate their lives to such an extreme degree to this philosophy of theirs (really, it is more of philosophy than a religion) without the threat of hellfire. Instead of a preacher screaming and raving about how all the wicked sinners are going to burn forever in hell, you have these monks who don't want to insult or harm anyone. Even everyday Buddhists who are not as hardcore as the monks I respect, even-tough they sorta wuss out (especially if they live in a Western country).
There is just this... pure pursuit of great insight and wisdom to eventually reach true enlightenment and transcendence to another plane of existence and state of being. That's something I "could" consider giving up my sinful ways for, had it not been for the above mentioned affection for said sinful ways.
As for rules, they aren't exactly rules in the same sense as the Ten Commandments. Those are frikken rules. Plus all the other crazy stuff in those books. You're not expected to follow the "rules" of reincarnation or else something bad happens to you. No, they are just a way to explain things. In a sense they are almost scientific in nature; not because they can be proven but because, as I said, they are a way to explain how it works.
