Might be controversial but i agree to be honest also, was meant to be a revolutionary RPG that broke rules and boundaries and many RPG's have done this better.

You mean like you? You said LFD was revolutionary and then just said 'Lol'. Nice work.

I can see why people say CoD is over-rated, but I suppose Andy is right. It was overhyped. It could nowhere near live up to the hype it was given. MW2 I mean.

Uncharted 2, Killzone 2... Now that I think of it... Every PS3 exclusive.

Final Fantasy VII is muchos over-rated but It's still amazing.

I forgot all about Fable 2, guess that shows how much I don't care for it.

The character interactivity is really bad, basic combat system that could have used much more depth to it, other than being able to fart in a child's face or the face of a homeless man... there's nothing revolutionary about it.

Agreed, for a game that quotes 'For every choice a consequence' and talks about making you care for NPC's and characters there isnt one character ive given a damn about. Couldnt even care about my own character half the time because they are mutes who never look how you want them too and cant interact with anything besides farting, making roaring sounds or laughing for no reason. Like controlling someone with a combination of learning difficulties and tourettes. Then the choices you make are very black and white (no pun intended) save someone or kill someone etc. There is no real corruption or devious ideas at work to go on.

:lol: Getting thrown out the window of a 50 story castle will do that to you.

I found it hard to care about everyone else as well, you kill someone but the person is respawned the following day (can't feel any emotional shock from that), too many clones walking around, and the world is way too comical to take seriously. I mean really, you can gain the love from someone from just Fart, Kiss, Fart, Kiss, Fart, Kiss, which eventually leads to marriage.... .... something is terribly wrong here.

And Metal Gear Solid 4 - honest to goodness I did not and still do not see the "awesome amazingness" of this game. Nor why it got 10 out of 10 almost everywhere.

I hated Portal - like, really really hated it. The whole cake thing wasn't even slightly amusing to me either.

The problem for me with Portal is that it requires a more logical mind and I simply don't have one - I couldn't understand what to do and it just frustrated me. Simply wasn't enjoyable and I need to enjoy a game to want to play it. I know everyone else loves it but I just couldn't get into it.

Games I find overrated (most have already been mentioned):

- Assassin's Creed II
- Bayonetta
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Grand Theft Auto IV
- Halo 3: ODST (I actually really enjoyed the campaign and the dozen-odd games I could get of co-op Firefight but the lack of matchmaking support and "just an over-priced add-on" feel just ticks me off)
- Burnout Paradise (Burnout Revenge is ace though)
- Perfect Dark Zero
- FEAR 2
- All Tekken games
- Saints Row and Saints Row 2
- Metal Gear Solid 4

I'll be here all day if I try and list 'em all!

Games that I have found to be consistently brilliant, still haven't lost appeal for me and still have me blinded by what is probably an unhealthy fanboy obsession:

- Command and Conquer series (not the console versions - just PC)
- Age of Empires/Mythology series. Superb
- Silent Hill series
- Resident Evil series
- SHINING FORCE

Saints Row 1 was bad. Saints Row 2 had a little more fun to it but the arcade style starts to fade.

I'll be honest: back in the day I used to love Tekken 1 and Tekken 2. Problem is, now that I'm older, I can't help but see fighter games as nothing but shallow, uninspired, "more of the same" rubbish and Tekken just seems to be the biggest culprit in my eyes.

Street Fighter II and IV are still the only fighters that I actually enjoy playing; partially because SF2 was the first game I got with my Snes and it was just so damn additive and SF4 is all nice and modern and still retains that SF2 vibe.

I'd still be playing Street Fighter IV to this day if my gamesave hadn't become corrupted, the online wasn't full of character-exploiting, and Capcom hadn't already announced what is basically the 'Turbo' or 'Championship Edition to be released soon as a separate game instead of DLC.

...I think people need to remember the meaning of "overrated".
It means to over rate. You can't just say "Hey, that game's popular now. It's overrated!", because that seems like what most of you are doing. Just because a game is popular and you happen to dislike it doesn't make it overrated.
It seems that someone will call a game overrated and someone will defend it ((even jokingly)) because they like it.

Personally, I think Fallout 3 is overrated, although I enjoyed playing it.
Same goes for Borderlands.
Also, the MGS series. ((I have every game, don't tell me I'm a hypocrite.))
