And Metal Gear Solid 4 - honest to goodness I did not and still do not see the "awesome amazingness" of this game. Nor why it got 10 out of 10 almost everywhere.

...I think people need to remember the meaning of "overrated".
It means to over rate. You can't just say "Hey, that game's popular now. It's overrated!", because that seems like what most of you are doing. Just because a game is popular and you happen to dislike it doesn't make it overrated.
It seems that someone will call a game overrated and someone will defend it ((even jokingly)) because they like it.

Personally, I think Fallout 3 is overrated, although I enjoyed playing it.
Same goes for Borderlands.
Also, the MGS series. ((I have every game, don't tell me I'm a hypocrite.))

no, that's pretty much exactly what it means. if you don't think it's as good as recommended then it is by definition over rated

Ive always thought the same and wondered how it got to be one of the defining fighting games. They always felt the same except revised graphics and slightly updated physics. Most the animations were recycled along with the moves.

The only game on a console ive put over 80 hours into this generation (besides CoD 4 multiplayer).

L4D, in its own right, is a marvel of technology. First of all, it can display dozens, sometimes hundreds, of characters on the screen at a time (courtesy of the Source engine).

Secondly, the AI director is astounding. An AI that is capable of tracking players, modifying the game on a whim, ect, is incredible.

Thirdly, bite me.

I don't hate it, mate. I just reckon it's mediocre and doesn't deserve the praise it's receiving. That's just my opinion, though. I'm glad others are enjoying it but it's not my cup of tea. I much, much prefer the original Assassin's Creed.

Tekken 6 has the exact same animations as Tekken 3, and that was in 1997. Loved Tekken 3 though, threw many hours away mastering certain characters. Like 60hrs+, ridiculous for what's just a fighting game.

The 2nd improved on everything from the first and took away most of the really annoying repetitiveness. I completed AC once but im thinking of doing ACII again.

YES! Someone who agrees with me! I liked AC2 but it just didn't feel... Assassiny. I didn't like the story that much. Seemed a little childish until the end of the game. I like how they improved on the climbing, etc. but really, it's not much different from the first one.

I don't see how Fallout 3 is over-rated. Explain why, anyone?

Tekken 3 was by far the best one. I have Tekken 6 but it just doesn't match up to Tekken 3. They don't have exactly the same animation. They used the same ones but updated them.

Apart from new assassinations, weapons, items, outfits, economy system, varying sub mission types, bigger cities, better upgrades, being able to steal weapons and new distraction techniques no not much different at all.

Spoilers ahoy.

What I like about Assassin's Creed 2:
- Ability to change outfit colour is nice.
- Climbing and getting about is generally easier and quicker.
- Shopping for paintings is nice, I guess.
- The puzzles are cool.
- Exploring, and all that parkour junk can be enjoyable every so often.

What I dislike about Assassin's Creed 2:
- The story doesn't interest me at all. I'm about 8-10 hours in and I couldn't care less about either Ezio, or Desmond, or anyone to be honest. I found AC1's story much more appealing. I preferred Desmond in AC1 when I didn't have to waste time playing as him and training him.
- The first 30-60 minutes of the game was crap.
- Feels like Assassin's Creed 1.5. AC1 was really fresh and innovative back in the day and I really enjoyed it but AC2 feels like little more than an expansion pack to me.

That's just my opinion. I wish I could be thrilled by every minute of the game but I find I'm only playing it in short bursts every other day because I bought it at full price on day one and I would hate to admit to myself that I've wasted my money. It's just mediocre; I have plenty of good games to play at the moment and I wouldn't have lost sleep if I'd just passed on AC2 altogether.

To be honest, the only game I can think of that I thought lived up to the hype and then-some was Dead Space. And my wife bought that for me about 7 months ago. Nothing since then has really "wow'd" me - not even Modern Warfare 2 or Left 4 Dead 2; both of which I happened to be really excited about as well.

I enjoyed the story and felt i understood a lot more of what was going on in ACII. Also i didnt have any connection to Altair but i can sympathise with Ezio and he feels a more fun and real character. Also felt more attached to other characters in ACII probably because they actually gave you lots of Ezios story and you learnt lots about him whereas Altair was relatively unknown. Thought it was a risky move getting rid of a character like Altair but after playing the game i didnt miss him.

Was obvious you would control Desmond more as he is the main character after all not Altair or Ezio. :lol: Sooner or later in one game im sure you will end up controlling him alone in his time without jumping back as someone else. Think they will make more than 3 games as was first thought as they have confirmed Ezio will return in ACIII.

Did take a while to get going and was quite tedious to begin with but AC would have been if they hadnt given you all Altairs moves to start with then taken them all off you. Put 30 hours into ACII and id done original in about 10 and didnt want to play it again as the tedious tasks annoyed me too much. I dont think they could have done much else but improve things and i thought they did that, they had the base engine and couldnt shock people with the realistic physics anymore but not many games have a sequel that totally breaks new ground in the same generation. Again just an opinion. ^_^

Just mentioned this thats all i heard. Not just multiplayer as it has a single player component too. The wiki says a prequel but he said it will follow the events of ACII. The games site i read it on called it ACIII at the time but i hadnt heard any different then and just heard it had been confirmed. Didnt see anything about AC II Episodes until you mentioned it.

We have a new Assassin's Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component.

It is the same studios because it's not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen.

The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2.

Errr... Fallout 3 was an epic game. Just because YOU don't like doesn't mean it is overrated at all.

Okay, I think we need a total revision on the term "overrated" and have it edited into the first post. Seriously.

EDIT: Ninja'd. I'll agree on MW2. But MW1 was not overrated in any way. The game was insanely good. The story was ****in' awesome and was the only war game to actually attach me to my squad*. The multiplayer had an almost perfect balance and great ranking system.

And my I also say that you should thoroughly play a game before you say it is overrated.
