Re: my wishlist and ideas
I'm definitely repeating some stuff, but:
I really want to be able to go back to the Arena-- you know, defend my title and all. (Know it's been said)
I want to be able to attack people who're laying on the ground unconscious with more than a kick when using an ax. I mean, if you can stab the unconscious SOB with a swrod, why can't you split his skull with an ax? Or, for that matter, spike it with a pickhammer or smash it with a club?
I want to be able to swim, for chrissake, or at least wade deeper. If I'm the big, bad hero, why can't I wade deeper than my shins, or de-equip some of my tons of metal and swim? The limits on the water just annoyed me to no end.
In the one video I saw, the rifle worked as if it were bolt-action, or maybe a breechloader, though it looked like it was wasn't. While that probably reloaded faster than a real gun like it would have, I don't care. I'm just happy we don't have to deal with big old guns like the ones in the trailer, which technically should have been muzzle-loaders. If it (F2) has muzzle-loaders, I'd rather had a bow.
I also want the dog to be able to swim, definitely. Even if you can't, the dog has to be able to hit the water.
It also might be interesting to add a hunting-type thing. Let you use animals you kill as a food source, and add some nice herbivores that you can riddle with lead and eat. Maybe let you make the aforementioned dog retrieve you a birdshot-ridden duck or two.
And personalizing your weapons sounds cool, too. Maybe like the [Insert Character's name] (lightsaber) Crystal from Knights of the Old Republic II. Let you soup up a weapon to match your alignment and skills if you have it long enough, maybe make someone (by which I mean an NPC) who can do it for you.
And if your kids grow up (which they should) let them join you. The only problem is the fact that that would get really complex to fit in with the story. It seems like it'd be hard to do.
Oh, and to the weight thing I just saw in the "recent posts" below: I didn't like the weight much either. I got fat to open the Demon Door, for instance, and it seemed to be impossible to get slim again. And it also annoyed me the time or two I got fat by eating a lot to heal me after battles.
