Morrowing? You missed the d by two letters sweety.

Little to much alcohol...?

Yeah the Morrowind combat was way to reliant on your stats and skill and not on what you were aiming at etc.

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Just a little straying from the combat topic, has anyone here heard of or seen M'aiq the Liar in the game? It's an easter egg that is extremely hard to find. He is a Khajit male with a funky robe on who runs from town to town looking for calipers... don't ask me why. He is extremely fast and uses the roads, and it is very difficult to catch up with him, even with a horse. Anyone else seen him other than me? If you talk to him, he just spouts random opinions on the game... pretty funny stuff too. And he talks in third person about himself... pretty strange.

I remember you talking about him and no i havent played it again yet so will have to keep an eye out. You can move to any topic about Oblivion you wish as it is just a general Oblivion thread ^_^

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

I'm sorry I'm slow with the screenshots you guys. I haven't used my home computer for an extemely long time. Maybe some day... Anyway, he can be anywhere along the roads, though he pops up mostly around the southern part of the world near Leyawin and continues up the road. Sometimes if you fast travel to the stables of some cities, you see something out of the corner of your eye if you're lucky enough. He wears a tattered grey robe and is always running. He is deemed an essential character and cannot be killed, so if you have a good enough ranged spell, you can slow him down by killing him and waiting for him to get back up. That's how I originally caught up to him.

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Complaints of what...?

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Justin told me something yesterday I thought was pretty cool. When you steal something (fruit and that kinda stuff) and you quickly turn it into a potion it's not stolen anymore. I thought that was pretty neat.

He has to do that before everytime he saves
ME-"Come and sit with me and watch a movie"
HIM-"Just let me make some potions first"
[2 hours later]
HIM-"Okay I'm saving"
ME-""

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Right now Oblivion is my favorite game wich is tied with Medieval 2 total war (cant decide).

If fable 2 has an open world and not divided i small section then I'm sure Fable 2 willl beat it. Hmmm, maybe not for me but others will probebly like Fable 2 more.

BTW I just cant wait enymore for Shivering isles, it looks so cool to be in the realm of madness!!

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I didn't feel the need for a new one. Okay, I purchased Oblivion today. I installed and everything went fine. I start playing and I'm very impressed. But then my game spontaneously minimizes. I think "Oh, no big deal. Just some new hardware jitters." I reopen it, and it freezes. So I close and restart. And, now I come to you, with Oblivion closing 5 times on me already. Does anyone have any idea on what the problem is, and if it can be fixed? And I cannot return it because the CompUSA I bought it from is going out of business.

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Justin's had this problem. Except he gets illegal operation. for no reason at all

You got the patch for it? When installing did you by any chance have a black screen for ages when it looked like the installation had crashed as it just stays there for ages(but it actually hasnt)? If so did you close the process before it finished?

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Many glitches can happen when using Oblivion, even on a pretty good PC. My one can run it fine and all, but there are many problems and glitches that come with the PC alone sometimes. Perhaps it is just something having to do with the disc alone and the copy was screwed up. I'm not all that sure, but Drakan probably has a better clue than I could ever have.

I had annoying problems when i first ran it aswel which i mentioned here:

http://forums.projectego.net/elder-scrolls-performance-error-120/?highlight=oblivion+error

So i agree it can be tempramental, just have to work around them and find fixes as they are there and 99.9% of them can of course be fixed.

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

I really don't have a link to it, but if a slower or older PC is a problem, there is something called 'Oldblivion' for older computers to run the game. I used it on my laptop because the processer wasn't efficient enough, and it works quite well I must say. You still get the same full gaming experience, the same great sounds, but the graphics are lowered accordingly, though I still believe they are pretty solid even in a reduced state. If Drakan's heard of it, perhaps he could provide a link. I can't remember where it is...

Was mentioned by Devalion here:

http://forums.projectego.net/69706-post33/

But i dont think that it will be necessary as im sure FableFreaks computer should run it, i think it might just be a display driver problem, resolution problem or maybe installation glitch. I will help him when he gives me more details :P
