They are? Really? The Bible is big enough that you can pick and choose whatever you want and use it to justify whatever you feel like. There are plenty of Christians who are happy to be all un-loving and vengeful.

And yes, I know that's a bit inconsistent with some of my earlier defense of the Bible. Don't worry, I would defend the Qur'an, too, or any other holy book if I knew jack **** about them. Doesn't mean that I have to use the "blissful ignorance" form of acceptance.
