Anyone else fans of punk and all its sub-genres (Hardcore) what band do you like??
Yeh lets just say i have always been a big fan of punk, as a 10 year old i listened to Blink-182, Green Day (old song are better than new) and Sum 41... I grew out of the pop-punk genre when i picked up my first Sex Pistolks album, the Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. Although overall this was a shocking album it had 2 of my favourite songs Friggin' in the Riggin' and Anarchy in the UK..... For along time i listened to classics (like: The Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Damned, The Jam and The Buzzcocks.) After this hardcore punk really came into my life with bands like Black Flag, Chaos UK, Bad Brains, Born Against, Cro-Mag and towards the end i listened to alot of Civ and Biohazard.. My favourite hard core band though would have to be Refused... I confess i did listen to a bit of Straight Edge hardcore but honestly the genre is not as good as it sounded back then. Straight Edge today is completely different to back then.. Basically nowerdays Straight Edge is all about stoppin racism, violence, drugs, underage/ before marrige sex etc. through singing. But back then Straight Edge did premote alot of violence.. A gang formed called FSU, randomyl beating people, they were basically to fight skin heads, but in the end they were harming the communty as much as the skinheads. Eventually FSU crumbled though luckily, and today i imagine doesn't follow it's legacy at all doing illegal crimes and drug dealing. And well hardcore punk has always had a problem you are either Anarchists, extreme left wing, extreme right wing, white supremacy skinheads or Straight Edge. Whilst most other genres often are all anarchists. Now today though i have been listening to a wider genre of all music but out of the punks i still isten to the classic but i love also folk punk or celtic punk (like The Real McKenzies or Dropkick Murphys.) I also recomend you check this band out a local Melbourne band called Bastard Squad, a friend of mine often is seen with them

What genre do you listen to, and please don't blabber too much about Green Day or blink 182 the majority on the forum already know quite a bit about them. Has it changed your life.
BTW if you want to know why i posted this topic first i was watching some episode of something called Rage Against Society, about FSU. I was interested because i didn't know any of this happened then in Boston.
LONG LIVE ANARCHY!
