I imagine I am not the one to ask with performance issues, but is it possible that because the game is faulty, you can return it and get another copy? I've honestly never heard of that happening before, but you must've bought the wrong copy if it's not the computer crashing. Oblivion can be very glitchy at times, but I don't exactly know about this. Any help, Drakan?

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Do you have anything else running in the background?

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

Anyone know how long it would take to get to lvl 10-255??

Updated your GFX Drivers and any other out of date ones like Direct X?

I'm not entirely sure you can even go up that far outside of a PC console cheat, and I'm not even sure that the game will go up past level 30... You never know, though.

I bought it from a CompUSA thats closing, mainly because it was on sale. So no I can't return it, no I have nothing running in the background, and no I never tampered with it.

How about the driver thing? Got latest for your GFX Card/Sound Card etc?

I dont think so, as it takes you an age to get to Level 30 ive heard the level cap is 60 but for most character builds i believe its 45.

I'm quite sure you can, because my character is lvl 33 right now.

On a side note, i'm new to the forums! Yay me! Hoping for many grand times and such.

I might have posted a picture somewhere...at sometime of that but wasnt of my character. My screenshots from my game are in the sticky thread in Greatwood park but most are from way at the start of the game i have got a screenshot lying around of my character with Umbra Armour and Umbra sword somewhere.

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

oh well.... im still lvl 9 on my save >< then my oblivion broke

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

I'm not sure why you would have the dedication to get it up to lvl 255... it'd probably drive you crazy by then. I think like Drakan said, it has a cap at lvl 60. So does that mean that you can't enhance your attributes after that?

Re: The Oblivion Thread!

So after being in this forum for a few months and hearing it be compared to fable in almost every thread I see here I finally decided to buy it for the ps3. I've played the game for hours and have barely touched the main missions, there's so much stuff to do that it's overwhelming. I absolutely hated morrowind and it couldn't keep my interest for more than 30 minutes. I'm still a little confused about how the game works (finding places, what to do on quests, just moving around, etc) but overall it seems like it could get pretty fun. Does anybody have any tips for somebody just starting the game?

Nice to see another person diving into the world of Cyrodiil. My advice is to do LOTS of sidequests and get some great weapons and armour and join up to some guilds and do some missions for them. Also get the skeleton key as soon as you can (wont say to much until you want to know). I played for about 48 Hours and not done to many mission in the main quest either. Ive closed a few Oblivion gates randomly but im doing sidequests and stealing a lot :ninja:

I can tell already that this game is going to eat away my life for the next couple months. The world is HUGE and I know I probably haven't even started to scratch the surface of it.

Yeah the game is massive, so much freedom and so many things to do and the game world is really large. Ive wasted countless hours just stealing fruits, food, and plants to make potions and breaking into places to steal items to sell :ninja:
